Sailor

"Sailor, please meet Daniel in his office, I repeat, Sailor to Daniel's office."

I squeezed my eyes shut, leaning my elbows on the desk as I took in a deep breath. I wore mascara solely so I wouldn't be able to cry today and so far, we've had about eight close calls thanks to my lovely manager, Daniel. Behind closed doors, he was Dickhead Daniel and I was hoping he wouldn't be here today.

"I'll watch your peeps, Sails. I know you'll be in there for a hot minute. We're almost done, only fifteen minutes left," Jenna gave me a sympathetic smile, sliding into the chair beside me. I gave her nod before logging out of my computer and slowly getting out of my chair.

I trudged my way to his office, trying to calm myself down as I approached his door. This was an everyday occurrence, one I'd reported many times to HR but no one seemed to care about any of it. I know of multiple other nurses who reported his inappropriate behavior but it was always just swept under the rug. I let out a long sigh before knocking, hearing him yell back to come in.

I opened the door slowly, plastering a fake smile on my face as entered the small office. My stomach churned at the sight of him and that disgusting smirk. He gestured for me to shut the door and take a seat to which I did hesitantly, trying to stay as close to the door as possible.

"Good morning, Sailor. Busy night?" I clenched my jaw, nodding. The ass wipe knew that my night was busy considering he made the assignment, giving me the worst patients per usual. I knew his vendetta against me was only because I'd refused to go on a date with the piece of scum. From that day on, it was hell city for Sailor.

"Well I called you in here because you took this weekend off and this was your weekend to work," It took all I had not to roll my eyes at this. Of course he'd be calling me in here for something that was he originally approved but then later changed his mind on because heaven forbid I switch weekends with someone.

"That's correct but I switched weekends with Zoey so I worked last Friday and Saturday night and she's working this weekend. You approved this request," I folded my arms over my chest, completely over his bullshit today.

"Yes well, we're short a nurse this weekend and I need you here," I raised my brows, almost scoffing at this request. No way in hell was I coming in this weekend.

"I switched weekends with Zoey. I cannot come in this weekend, I will not be in town. You approved my request so it's not my job to fill the spot this weekend," I had my fists clenched, trying not to blow a gasket at his ridiculous request, "Not to mention, it'd put me in overtime since I have worked the past three nights," Once again, that disgusting smirk appeared on his ugly face as he leaned over the desk, raking his eyes down my body.

"You're coming in, we're short. Decision has been made," I took a deep breath in from my nose, deciding that enough was enough and I wasn't going to take this shit anymore.

"I'm not coming in. Fire me for all I care, but I'm not coming in this weekend. I followed the rules, switched my weekends, and you approved my request," I stared him down, watching his smirk fade into a deep frown. He slammed his hands on his desk, making me jump.

"If I don't see you here tonight, you are fired. I am your boss and you will treat me with respect," I let out a dry laugh, getting up from my chair and walking to the door.

Just as I reached for the handle, Daniel's palm slammed against the door, keeping it shut. He pressed his body up against mine as he brought his lips to my ear, wrapping his free arm around my waist. I couldn't breathe, my heart stopped in my chest as tears formed in my eyes. This was an all too familiar situation and instead of pushing him away like I needed to, I just froze.
