Sailor
"Tell me why I agreed to this?" I groaned, pulling my legs up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them, placing my chin on my knees.
"Because you love me," I raised a brow at Lou, scoffing at his generic answer. He rolled his eyes, "You do love me so don't even start that shit. But you also know that I'd be broke without a band and then I'd fall into a deep hole of depression again, just like I did after Nicole left me and then you'll have to drag me off bar floors again and-"
"Okay, I get it. I get it," I put my hands up, stopping him as I knew just where this was leading. I'd had enough with peoples dramatics over the last 14 hours, "Let's just hope there's a good one in this mix, I need my beauty sleep," I yawned, lifting my arms over my head. Lou gave me a sideways glance before smirking at me.
"That's for sure, you look like hell, love," My eyes narrowed into slits as I hit Lou's arm. He just laughed, rubbing his arm after I had fallen back into my seat, "I'm joking, Captain, you know you're gorgeous. Even with those purple bags under your eyes and unkempt hair."
"These bags are DESIGNER, I'll have you know. I work hard to get them just the right shade of purple," I tried to give Lou a serious look as we pulled up to the studio but it faltered the moment a smile broke out on his face. Both of us burst into a fit of laughter before exiting the car.
Louis Tomlinson had been my best friend since birth. Our parents were really good friends and our fathers were on the same bowling league in our home town. It was actually unplanned that our mothers got pregnant around the same time. I was supposed to be born on the 24th of November and Louis was due on the 4th of December. However, we subsequently made the decision in the womb that we were going to swap those dates. My mom was not a happy camper to carry me for a week longer than expected.
Louis was outgoing, charming, and the biggest trouble maker I knew. He was constantly getting detentions for disrupting the class or telling inappropriate jokes. I, on the other hand, was shy, nerdy, and rarely stepped out of line. If I did, it was most definitely Lou's fault. I forgot to mention he was convincing, extremely convincing, which leads me back to now when he begged me (literally got on his hands and knees pleading) for me to help him with picking his bands new drummer. And because I was the biggest people pleaser on the planet, I'd stupidly agreed after working a 12 hour night shift.
I knew Lou was musically gifted the moment we had been required to join choir in Secondary school. He had a very unique voice, one that always stuck out in the crowd. During grade twelve, he often did open mic nights at one of the clubs in town. I went to every one of course, being his number one fan and all. He just recently had an idea of starting a band with a few of his mates, basically appointing me part time manager without my input on the situation. Not that I minded of course, I only worked three nights out of the week and my sleep schedule was already fucked as it is.
Lou and I made our way up to the door and I thanked him as he held it open for me. I rubbed at my tired eyes as I walked down the empty halls before coming up on the usual room. I had to hide my smile as I noticed Niall sitting at the table, his feet resting on the top of it and arms resting behind his head as he talked with Liam and Mitch. Everyone turned their heads my way once they heard the door slam.
"Captain! You came!" Niall ran over to me, lifting me up as he pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly as he spun me around before setting me on my feet, "Your blue RedBull and cheap fold away chair await."
"I could kiss you right now. My head is pounding from the lack of caffeine running through my veins," Niall's face went pink at my words as his eyes widened slightly, bringing his hand scratch the back of his neck, "I was joking, Ni. Come on, we have important work to do," I rolled my eyes before grabbing a hold of his hand and pulling him to the chair next to mine.
