"You look just like her." Said Sam
The room was quite. I didn't know my mum had any friends apart from her drinking buddy's. Sam seemed to young and smart to be one of them.
"So how do u know my mum Sam?" I asked as a sat on her couch drinking hot chocolate.
Her house is much tidier than mine. I think she's part of the army or something. There was swords and guns on the walls lit up with Electric blue coloured light.
"Your mother wasn't a bad person Fallon, she was just broken. She had nothing when she got here."
" I know I never blamed her for being the way she was." I replied
We fell silent for a couple of moments.
"After everything she did, everything she was, I still miss her." I said
"Me too." Answered Sam
"Did you just bring me back here for a chat or was there something actually important you want to tell me?" I asked
"I just brought you here to give you this." She said as she pulled out a small brown box had different shaped carvings around the sides of it.
"What is it?" I asked
"I have no clue." She said as she stood a sip of her coffee.
"Your kidding? My mum gave you this box but told you nothing about it and you expect me to just except that?"
"She said to give it to you when she died. It will help you find your dad I think." She took another sip.
The box looked like a jewellery box but just a bit bigger.
"Is that it?" I questioned
She nodded.
"Okay then, I'll b leave now" I stood up, she stood up with me in a hurry while her mouth was still on the cup.
"Wait"
I turned back to look at her.
"It needs keys, they can look like anything that will fit in the spaces, to open it."
"Okay thanks I guess."
She handed me are small piece of paper with her phone number written on it.
"Call me if you need me help or if you find any clues."
I opened the door and left.
When I got home I decided that I would spend as much time as I could trying to figure out what the keys were. If I wasn't at school or study I was looking for the keys.
The box had a circular concave in the front centre, with a heart shaped on the left and a Dimond shape on the right. On either side of the box were key holes. Written on the top of the box, 8 candles.
I started my search by cleaning the whole apartment. All the dirty dishes were washed and bottles removed. It hadn't been like this in years.
