"Fear blinds those who have everything to lose, but fear cannot blind those who have already lost everything."
The guard took me down the hallway to a room next to the front desk. "Sit down, we just have some questions for you before you go." Wow, do I look that suspicious? Ok sure I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt with sweatpants and run down shoes. . . .
Ok, I look a little suspicious.
I sat down in the chair as the guard brought out a notebook and a taser. He placed the taser on the table and aimed it at me as if he'd shoot if I did one thing wrong.
"He's just gonna be here just in case of emergencies."
Are you serious? Damn you and your horrible taste in clothing Nixie.
The guard sat down and grabbed a notebook. "So, what's your name?" He asked.
"My name is Liam." I said. He quickly scribbled my name onto the notebook and looked up. "Last name?" "Hendrickson." Once he finished writing down my name, he asked, "So, what is your business here Mr. Hendrickson."
"I'm here to see a friend of mine." I responded.
"We have no record of you in our database. Who were you going to visit?" He asked.
I gulped. "Martha Stewart." He signaled to the guard next to the doorway.
"I'm sorry Mr. Hendrickson, we are going to have to ask you to stay here until security arrives." The buff guard walked up to me, a pair of handcuffs at his side.
I raised up my hands in defense. "I'm sorry, I'll leave immediately just don't arrest me." I said panicking.
"Oh, are you referring to the handcuffs on his belt," The guard said pointing to the buff guards waistband. "The handcuffs are just for show. I mean it's not like we could actually go to the authorities."
I gave him a perplexed look. "What do you mean?"
The guard stood up from his char and walked to the side of the room where the buff guard was standing. "We have our own means of dealing of people who intrude on our property."
"Do you guys have your own security team?" I asked.
"Yeah, something like that." Suddenly the door broke open. Once I got a look of the thing that had just entered my peripheral vision I wanted to vomit. It's body was full of extra appendages and its face contorted into 5 faces. Though I had idea what the thing in front of me was, it only took a scan from my left eye to confirm my fears. It was an Asmodeus Amalgam. "Oh you've got to be kidding me." I said cutting my thumb of Diástasis and let it soak up my blood.
"So you can see them, good. I was hoping that your fear-ridden face earlier when you were walking with me was because you saw the Amalgam enter the center." The guard opened the door behind the Amalgam and walked out with the buff guard, giving me a sly wave as he left.
"I'm sorry, but you won't be leaving this room alive." He then closed the door as the amalgamation slithered up to me, its massive teeth grinning with excitement. I was going to pull out Diástasis but something stopped me. Suddenly my chest felt tight and my heart rate started to increase rapidly. My legs started quaking and I couldn't bring myself to lift my sword to fight back, I just felt hopeless as this amalgam towered over me. Spots danced in my vision as I watched in utter despair as the amalgam kept on growing until its head reached the ceiling. I cried out in agony and ran at the amalgam, desperate to kill it and end this encounter. I extended Diástasis into a sword and jumped at it but it grabbed me with its hands. I screamed in pain as it started to crush my ribs.
