Chapter 15

hing I came back here for. I kept seeing all of the horrible things that had happened in my life that I have witnessed. I suddenly woke up in a cold sweat, trying to catch my breath. I sighed and put my hand to my forehead realizing that it was just a dream. I got out of bed and made my way over to the bathroom. I turned the tap on and splashed the water in my face before turning it off and looking in the mirror at myself. I made my way back into the main room. I looked over to my jacket feeling like I needed some fresh air.

I took my coat and put it on as I headed out of the door. I walked down the hallway until I came across a door that read "roof access". I opened the door and ran up the stairs until I was met with another door. I opened the door and walked out onto the roof. I looked around until my eyes landed on someone standing there looking down over the city. I walked up to them realizing that it was my dad. "What are you doing out here?" I asked him as I stopped beside him looking to the city.

"I could ask you the same question," he replied. "Look, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you everything," I said to him before he turned to look at me. "It's okay, but it's not me that you should be apologizing to," he said. "Yes, it is, because I haven't been completely honest with you either. The other reason I came back here," I replied. "What do you mean?" He asked. "There is another reason why I came back. In the future..." I started before turning back to look at the city. "You died," I said. "We were on a mission and you refused to hurt him. I didn't understand why, but in the end he stabbed you right in front of me," I said, replaying that image in my head as tears came streaming down my face.

"I watched as you died in my arms" I said looking him in the eyes. He pulled me into his embrace and we just stood there for what felt like hours. I quickly whipped the tears from my eyes as we pulled apart. "Well I should get back," he said. "Yeah," I replied. "I'll see you tomorrow," I said. "See you tomorrow," he said before heading over to the door. I watched as he tried to open the door but couldn't. "I think we're locked up here," he said looking at me. I walked over to him and tried to open the door, but couldn't. "You might want to stand back," I told him. He did as I said as I powered up freezed the lock with my powers. "There," I said pushing the door open. "Uh...thanks," he said before walking past me and down the stairs. "I love you," I said but by then he was already out of sight.

I let out a sigh as I walked over to where I was standing before. I looked over to the streets of central city. I sat out there for a few more minutes until I finally felt tired and went to go back to my room. As I made my way down the hall I heard a voice which caused me to stop in my tracks. "Alissa?" I heard as I turned to see Rachel standing there. "What are you doing?" She asked. I decided to tell her the truth. "I couldn't sleep so I went up to the roof to think and clear my thoughts," I told her. "Oh, I also couldn't sleep," she replied. "Do you want to come over to my room and hang out?" I asked. "Sure" she replied. "Just let me get my shoes on," she added. "You don't need your shoes, just put some socks on," I said. "Okay" she said before going back into her room for a split second then coming out with socks with holes in them on her feet.

Once we got to my room we sat down at the table. "Do you want some coffee?" I asked. "Sure," she said. I walked over to where the coffee pot was and quickly made some coffee. "Thanks," she said as I handed her the mug. For the next hour we just talked and laughed. We got to know each other better and in that short amount of time we became friends.

"Girl we need to go shopping tomorrow, I can't let you walk around in those socks" I said as we both looked down at her holed socks. "That sounds like fun!" She replied. "That would be nice to get away from all of the drama that's going on right now" I said. "Yeah, well I should get going," she said standing up. "Okay, it was nice talking to you, ill see you tomorrow" I said. "See you tomorrow!" She said as she headed towards the door. She gave me a small wave before heading out the door.once the door shut I got into bed and fell asleep right away.
