Chapter 8. Nora

"It's about Nora," I said to him as soon as we reached the hall. "What about Nora?" he asked me. "I've gone to the future and ran into her, then we became best friends, she wanted me to tell you that she's Alive and okay" I said to him as he let out an emotional sigh. "She's alive?" he asked me, starting to get tears in his eyes. "She wanted me to tell you that she's okay, Barry" I told him. "Why wouldn't she come here and tell me herself?" he asked. "Because she is stuck in the future until she defeats Thon," I explained to him.

Barry quickly, whipping a tear from his eye. Suddenly I heard footsteps coming from down the hall. Barry and I turned to see Iris walking over to us. "Hey, babe sorry i'm late i had to finish up my article. What's the emergency?" she said as she approached us. "Who's this?" she asked, looking at me. "Oh, um this is..." "Alissa, nice to meet you Iris," I said, shaking her hand with a smile. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" she asked. "Not exactly," I replied. "I went to the future and became best friends with your daughter Nora," I told her. "Oh my god," she said. "She wanted me to come back here and let you both know that she is alive and okay, and that she loves you both very much" I explained to her. "But she is stuck in the future until she defeats Thon" I added.

"I wish we could see her,'' she said to Barry leaning into his chest as he rubbed her arm to comfort her. Suddenly an Idea popped into my head. I then disappeared into the future for a few seconds then returned to the present in front of Barry and Iris holding baby Nora. "Nora!" Iris said as she lifted her head off of Barry's chest. I then gave Nora over to her. I watched as Iris cradled her and Barry looked down with such happiness in his eyes. "You can hold her for a little bit, I really need to get her back before the future, you guys notice she's gone," I told them. "Wait, you went into the future just now?" Iris asked, looking up at me. I nodded in response. "Thank you" she said with tears of joy. I let them hold her a moment longer before I brought Nora back to the future.

She disappeared out of their arms before Iris turned to me with a smile. "Thank you so much," she said before hugging Barry. We then headed back into the pipeline where everyone else was. "I need your help because you guys are the only people who can stop him," I said as I entered the pipeline. "I just can't return without that neural transmitter. What are we gonna do about that?" I asked. "Then you will return with it" dick said. "What?" everybody questioned looking back at him. "No, wait, that's a good idea!" I said as everybody took their eyes off of dick and put them on me. "Oh, one of my powers is reading minds," I said. "Great," I heard dick say. I rolled my eyes as he continued what he was saying before.

"Anyways, I was gonna say that we can build a fake one" Dick said. "That is a good idea!" Cisco said. "What does this prometheus guy want?" Barry asked. "He is very powerful, but he is getting weaker. So, he is making me steel transmitters so that he can recharge himself, and once he recharges himself he is going to have enough power to charge his machines." i explained. "And once he powers his machines he will have enough power to take over the world. Past, present, and future," I added. "We're gonna stop him," Barry said. "Not yet, we're still missing one thing," I replied.

"And what is that?" Dick asked. "The green arrow." I said. "Barry, can you go get him?" I asked him. "On it," he said before speeding off. "Cisco, Caitlyn. Can you start the fake transmitter?" I asked them. "You got it, little poweroid," Cisco said before him and Caitlyn walked off. "Dick, Jayson. Training with me." I said to them. Dick nodded. "I can show you where the speed lab is," Iris said. "Okay," Dick said before him and Iris walked out of the room in the direction of the speed lab. I looked over to Jayson to see him standing there with an angry expression on his face. "Jayson, wait" i said, walking over to him and trying to grab onto his arm as he was about to walk out of the room. Before I could touch him he slapped my hand away. "Don't touch me!" he said. "Look, I'm sorry I lied to you," I said.

"Was it part of his plan to make me care for you so much then leave me in the dust?!" he said, starting to shout. "No, I was trying to protect you!" I shouted back at him. "He watches me and if he knew I was with you he would have killed you!" I shouted. "I can handle some guy!" He replied, still shouting. "No you can't!" I replied. "Are you saying that i'm too weak to handle myself?!" he asked. "That's not what i'm saying! Why do you think that i brought you all together?" I asked as I stopped shouting and stepped forward towards him. "Because nobody can defeat him on their own." I told him. "I did this to protect you and if you can't see that then..." i said as i headed towards the door. I could see the look of regret in his eyes as I was about to leave. As I turned around to leave I heard him speak. "Alissa, wait" he said, but I just ignored him and sped off to the speed lab.
