you've been friends with sunghoon since childhood, and since then, you've always had a crush on him. for years, you never really knew if it was unrequited love or not, so you decide to find out through a confession

"hm? why are your cheeks so red? we're already inside." sunghoon pinches your cheek as you melt into your seat. "don't tell me you have a crush on someone? who is it, huh~" he nudges you playfully.
"no one."
"don't be so unfair, how come you know everything about me but you're so secretive?" he complains.
hesitantly, you spoke, "alright fine. i'm not telling you here, though. maybe tomorrow at the school rooftop."
"hm.." he ponders for a bit, "sure!" he nods as the teacher enters the room.

sunghoon went to the rooftop ahead of you as you said a teacher needed a hand. really, it was just an excuse to prepare yourself and get the cookies whic were baked last night from your locker.
palms were starting to sweat as your grasp on the blue bag of cookies tightened, straightening your skirt and dusting off your blazer.
taking a deep breath, you push the rooftop doors open as the cookies were held behind you.
"... you, sunghoon. will you go out with me?"
your grasp on the cookies loosened, mouth opening at the scene before your eyes. your seatmate, confessing to your crush, sunghoon.
sunghoon looks behind the girl for a bit, thinking of a response, "um, sure." the girl's eyes shone, jumping in for a hug with sunghoon.
you finally let go of the cookies behind you, stepping on them on your way out of the rooftop.

a few weeks have passed, and sunghoon was no longer single. it was a blessing the couple weren't being so lovey-dovey in front of you, it was more one sided as sunghoon barely budged.
"oh yeah, you're still going on that date, right?" sunghoon's girlfriend leans closer to you, who replied with a nod.
"alright then, sunghoon and i are going somewhere, see ya tomorrow!"
"oh, actually, i want to talk to you about something." sunghoon speaks to his girlfriend as they walk away.
your seatmate— sunghoon's girlfriend has set you up on a blind date since you were always third-wheeling with them.
since the blind date has told you he was going to pick you up from school, you sat yourself on one of the benches outside. you sigh, watching as the couple became smaller from a distance.

about twenty minutes has passed. you check your phone, and one finally popped up on the lockscreen.

it started snowing earlier a few minutes or so. you sat there on the bench as the snow continued to fall, snowflakes resting on your hair and on your blazer.
at a time like this, you only thought about sunghoon. you were fine with being rejected, as long as you kept close with him. however, something just happened to draw him away from you, who was always by his side.
"ha... park sunghoon." you sigh, closing your eyes as you feel the cold embrace you.
soft footsteps could be heard from the snow-covered ground, suddenly you felt the snow's absence of falling on you.
gently opening your eyes, you look up with haste, a clear umbrella was being held above you.
"yeah? why did you say my name?" your eyes widen at his voice, adjusting your gaze to sunghoon who was in front of you. "why are you out here in the cold? where's your date?"
you shake your head, looking down, "it got cancelled, i guess you could say i got stood up."
silence followed your sentence until you decided to break it, "oh... your girlfriend? where is she..."
"not my girlfriend anymore. we broke up a few minutes ago." he sighs, brushing his hair with his free hand.
"i honestly don't even know why i said yes, i mean i barely know her and never thought about dating her. i just felt like i was leading her on."
without knowing, you let out a sigh of relief, feeling like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. "was that a sigh of relief?" he bends down to your height, staring at your now even-more-red face.
sunghoon snickers, "let's head home." holding your cold hand into his warm one, then sliding them inside the pocket of his coat.
"just stay with me from now on, don't go around dating other guys." his voice lowered at the last words.
"oh~ does sunghoon want to keep me that badly?" you tease him, finally feeling your mood get brighter.
"yeah, i do." his pace slows down, "i realised i dated her through... jealousy... after hearing you liked someone— but anyways!"
you chuckle at his sudden behaviour. "hey, sunghoon." he looks at you, "what do you think of me?"
the boy stays silent. "do you still want to know the person i like?" you tug on his hand to make him face you once again.
"who else would it be other than park sunghoon?" you beam a smile at him, finally seeing his lips tug upwards to match yours.
