❝and i've moved further than i thought i could.❞

"hurry up, boys!" our coach yelled into the locker room. i quickly finish doing up my laces on my soccer boots and stand up.

alejandro and i begin to walk out onto the field. once we got out there i saw other players on the pitch, kicking a ball back and fourth to each other and some kids sat on the bleachers, either talking or finishing their homework.

"i wonder if we're gonna stay on the team." alejandro said and grabbed a football from a bag and began chucking it in the air as we walked to the middle of the field.

"bro, coach loves us," i squint my eyes at him and take the ball off of him. "we're his best players."

alejandro shrugs. "i guess so."

alejandro and i kicked the ball back and fourth to each other for a bit before i saw theo run out of the locker room.

"hey ale, i'll be back in a minute." i said and he nods and then runs over to a couple of our other friends.

"yo theo!" i yell and he turns his head around and turns to face me.

"wassup, bro." he nodded and we dabbed each other up.

"nothing much, i just wanted to ask you something."

theo nods and looks back at his friends and tells them to go ahead and play without him. "what is it?"

"do you know who, oriana navida is?" i ask and he slowly nodded.

"yeah, she's the chick that always hangs with you."

"yeah, well she's my best friend and has had the biggest crush on you since freshman year, so what do you say if you went and asked her out on a date after practice?" i wonder and he shrugs.

"i don't even know the girl, bruh." he chuckled and i kissed my teeth.

"that's the whole point of a date, theodore." i raise both my eyebrows and use his full name.

"uh, sure, yeah whatever. where's her locker?"

"great! it's right by ms nelonce's class. the numbers 7303."

theo nods. "i'll ask her at free period."

i smile. "thanks bro, it means a lot."

"no problem."

ORIANA

i had a free period right now and i was putting my books away onto my locker when somebody leaned against the locker next to mine.

i glance at them and my eyes widen. theo!

"hey, oriana." he winks and i gulp. i had no idea what to say. he's never spoken to me before.

"h-hi theo.. uh what's up?" i awkwardly ask and he shrugs.

"i came here to ask you something." he smirked and i nodded. "and that is?"

"what're you doing friday night?"

i could feel the hotness in my body make it's way to my cheeks and my palms began to sweat.

"o-oh..uh.. n-nothing. why?"

"do you wanna go to the movies?" he wonders and i widen my eyes even more.

"are you sure? this isn't some prank?" i raise a brow and begin to look around the school to see if there were any of his friends watching me with their phone in their hand filming us.

"no," he laughed and ran his hand through his hair. "well do you?"

"uh, y-yeah sure.."

"great, we'll get a taxi there and back since i'm sneaking in vodka." he winked and then began to walk away.

"wait! what time are we meeting?"

he thought for a moment and then smiled. "eight. the movie starts at nine."

i nod and smile. my cheeks were still red. i got myself together before putting in my earphones and playing music off of my phone and then making my way to sit outside.
