Hanako shook you awake, while Nene was chatting up a storm with Kou. "-And she and Mr. Tsuchigomori were married, but he died and-" "Miss Yashiro. I'd assume you wouldn't want anyone spilling your secrets so quickly?" You snapped at the girl, glaring slightly. "I never intended to share my past, and would never give you permission to share it, so do me a favor and shut it." You stood, wobbling slightly, "now Hanako. What do you expect me to do while you find the traitor?" With that, he blanked. "Well I was hoping you'd resume your job as the school nurse effective immediately."
Now it was your turn to blank.
"Wouldn't that mean..?" You remember one thing that hadn't been shown to Nene.
"I never want to see you again. Pack up and leave. I never want my name leaving your mouth ever again. In life or death." Those were truly the last words Tsuchigomori had ever told you. Deep down you knew, he meant it. You exhale softly through your nose and begin walking towards the school. "Hanako, does the school still run the way it used to?" You turned your head toward him slightly. "It sure does!" He smiled. It had taken about an hour to fill out the paperwork, but the school told you to come back in a week for an interview. You found yourself on the roof of the old building with Hanako. "Hanako..." you hesitated, "how is... he?" You motioned toward the library window. He visibly hesitated, "Tsuchigomori is fine." You sighed, still looking at the library windows, hoping to be able to catch even a glimpse of him. "He still reads your book, you know." Hanako commented, following where your eyes landed. "Does he now..." you mumbled, more to yourself than him.
Your eyes still rested on Tsuchigomori's place of work, and you began to reminisce of what could have been. You two could have had children, despite him not being particularly fond of them, you could have grown old together... you shook the thoughts away, and allowed yourself to return to the sad reality. You started to turn and begin to leave, noting how the sun had sunk lower down the horizon. As you began to turn around, you came face-to-face with the one person in this entire school you wished to avoid: Tsuchigomori. You, wanting to respect his final wish, immediately cast your eyes down. "What are you doing outside your boundary?" He asked, avoiding your name, and go so far as to back away from you. "I had to destroy it..." you mumbled, trying to read how he was reacting to you. He mumbled some profanities under his breath and went to the edge of the roof. He sat down, pulled out his pipe, and began to smoke. "Care to tell me when and how you died?" He looked forward at the setting sun. You paused, not sure if he was mocking you. "Well.. I died very soon after you, and I died from..." You stopped, he would surely make fun of you for the manner in which you died. "Spit it out, (Y/n)." He said, turning to face you. 'Yep, him saying my name still gives me butterflies.' You thought. "I... I died from heartbreak..." You turned your head to try and avoid his shocked gaze. Tsuchigomori chuckled sadly and sighed. "I've heard that's extremely painful..." You held back the urge to look at him. "I was sure that you'd know, since you have my book and all..." You said softly.
He looked back towards the setting sun, "I never had the heart to read past the things I said to you."
Sorry for the short chapter folks! Updates should be a lil unusual, but I'll make an A/N if I stop writing! Thank you all for reading!
