Madison p.o.vSo I just had my first teleportation and I am SO HIPPED.
- Can we do it again?! - I squeal, tightening my grip on Nia's hand and looking at her with hopeful eyes.
- No, this is for work only - she sternly responds, letting my hand go, not even looking at me.
I won't fight her on that, I bet teleportation is super expensive. Tho I cant figure out what exactly she is using to do it.
- Lets get this done then - I answer, still happy to help someone with revenge.
I have no idea where we are, but sure enough, wherever it is, there is a pool of mud right at our feet. The temperature here isn't much different, a bit more humid i'd say, and I'm pleased to notice that we're are in a different timezone.
- To keep Gary defenseless we can't just use any mud, he's way too familiar with these situations, we have to use a type of mud he has probably never been in contact with, otherwise he'll figure out how to get out of it too easily. so we are in the place he hates the most: Equator! Gary hates hot places, he probably never came here and hasn't been in contact with this mud.
- what do you mean get out of it? If he's tied up he won't be able to take it off - I ask trying to stop myself from asking if we can take a look at the beach.
- oh I wish it was that simple... But, you see, we're trapping his power inside the mud, but if he is familiar with the form of its atoms then he can get out in a couple of hours, the slightest difference in its composition can keep him here for days.
I nod in agreement, not really making much sense of what she's saying but trusting that she must be right.
- First, we have to empty his pockets. We don't want to find out what kind of special weapon he has that he can use against us. I'll check the left pockets you check the ones on the right.
I get down on my knees and while checking his front pocket contemplate if this is technically robbing.
- clear - Nia says.
Oh, I've heard this in police dramas.
- clear - I repeat after checking.
Nia carelessly turns him around, motioning for me to start searching his back pockets.
- I don't want to touch his butt cheeks... - I say now realizing how awkward this is.
- come on! We're searching! It's fine! And it's not like we're going to be really touching them - I can tell she's also not hipped to search his back pockets.
- But-
- let's just close our eyes and do it on three.
- fine... - I sigh
On three, I quickly put my hand inside his back pocket and take it out in a second. I think I felt something tho. I slowly check it a again, this time with my eyes open, and sure enough there is something flashing a red light.
- Nia I have something - I say taking a look at the strange object in my hand.
- mmmm ok I'll check it in a second
And then it hit me.
- BOMB - I shout and throw the small object across the mud.
Nia p.o.v
The second I looked up to see what Madison was throwing across the mud I saw my whole life flashing through my eyes. I'm screwed.
- THAT was NOT a fucking bomb - I shout, getting up ready to blow up stronger then any bomb - THAT was a T R A C K E R. A TRACKER THAT WE NEED WITHIN OUR REACH TO TURN O F F.
Madison p.o.v
- I'm so - I start but before I can even finish my apology we're back in mayfort.
- stay here - she shouts turning away from me.
I try to grab her hand, but i am met with only air.
Emily p.o.v
It was not my plan to be caught flipping off people by Dan, but it was also not my plan to go around flipping off people either. turns out I'm a bad planner
- so are you going to tell me what triggered you to this nonsense? - Dan says, adjusting his glasses looking at me curiously.
- I'm just... a bit upset.
This makes Dan let out a small laugh.
- I've seen you a bit upset, you don't lash out like this.
- ok - I sigh - I am more than a little bit upset.
- what happened? was it Andrew?
- how did you? - I ask widening my eyes
- well you've been like this since he came back from wherever.
Yes wherever seems like the appropriate location.
- He's different isn't he, I noticed something was off too. I just don't get why that's bothering you so much - he continues.
Maybe it's time I tell Dan something. He deserves to know at least something.
- I -
- you love him don't you? - He interrupts.
Love is a very strong word. Too much of a strong word to characterize how I feel about Andrew. Or it least it's too strong for what I'm willing to admit, especially after all this.
- No. - I simply reply, not in the mood for revealing's anymore.
- come on! You can't lie to me - well, I'd argue that after this summer I've become quite skilled at that.
- it's really not that.
- Emily, I saw the look in your eyes this morning; you looked heartbroken every time you as much glanced at him, and to be heartbroken you need to have felt something before.
