Mr.Duffles

July was finally here. With exams out the way for all the older years, they were given the time to relax and laze around. Nearly everyday was spent by the tree facing the lake with all the bunnies and other magical creatures. James, Frank, Marlene, Jason all flew around the group and had races across the lake (mostly James won). Fabian and Gideon took to teaching Lily some wandless magic at these times, which she was becoming increasingly good at. Dorcas was determined to learn a new language so Sirius began teaching her some of the french he was taught as a kid. Peter and Mary spent the days making friends with the mice, cats and rabbits. Peter ensured to bring down a large bag of oats and carrots from the meals for their new woodland creatures, Mary took to naming and memorizing every single animal. Impressively she remembers every single rabbit, mouse and cat name despite there being millions to remember. Remus spent a lot of his time reading books upon books. Emmilence still kept her distance and had been hanging around a gang of slytherins and ravenclaws but every so often she came over and said hello to everyone.

The last thing in July was quidditch. It was an unusually late quidditch match. The ravenclaw who had been brought into the hospital wing the day lily had left turned out to be the Ravenclaw seeker and the team didn't have any reserves. Jason told professor Dumbledore that he would forfeit the match and Gryffindor could have the automatic win but James objected. Ravenclaw did have a chance to win, not a very good one but a chance nonetheless. Afterall it wasn't Jason or ravenclaws fault their seeker was injured (the nature of the injury was still undiscovered) so why should they all have to suffer? He insisted that they should just play the game later on in the team, Jason of course jumped onto the idea when he learned James was okay with it and eventually so did Dumbledore. So it was set... the match was moved back to July 10th, a week before the end of term. The latest the game had been in centuries.

July the tenth...

James awoke so early the birds were already chirping. Without making a sound, he got changed into his kit and went down to the pitch. Inspecting, the grass, temperature, weather and about everything else... he did not feel prepared. An unnerving amount of pressure was on this game and he didn't have a clue why.

By 7am he was done worrying about the pitch and made his way to the breakfast hall to heckle his team. Marlene, Frank, Florean, Gary and Laura were all sitting at the end of the table eating away. Lily, the marauders and Alice were next to them wishing them all luck.

'MACKENZIE,' James yelled as he entered, 'With the team,' he said as the other beater rolled his eyes and joined the team. He could not make it more obvious he didn't want to be there, 'Right all eat, we have plays to memorise,'

He was walking two steps faster than everyone else as they marched out to the quidditch pitch. Frank, Marlene and Florean struggled to keep up with him. Once in the lockers he gave no speech and spent the entire time looking at the play board as though he was planning something. The other tree tried to check on him but he just nodded.

Lily, the rest of the marauders, Alice, Dorcas and the two Prewett brothers all found a spot in the stands where they could see the game perfectly. Dorcas had Marlene's Gryffindor cardigan on and a small Gryffindor flag in her hand. The two Prewetts had been given Frank's and James' scarfs so they could rep for Gryffindor as well. Alice had her boyfriend's Gryffindor jumper on and lily had her own Gryffindor cardy on. Sirius had his tie wrapped around his forehead and both Peter and Remus were repping scarves.
