Chapter 1

Just a lil disclaimer for you because that's just fanfiction...
So 1. I Dont own anything, these Characters are all owned by Shonda Rhimes, I'm just borrowing them, but I'm not trying to kill them...
2. English isn't my first language so if you find grammatical mistakes or something that sounds just wrong to you, just tell me....
I haven't got a beta so I really need someone to tell me if it's wrong...
3. I hope you'll enjoy it, because I don't know, where I'm gonna go from here, it's just like 5 AM, I was awake for the whole night and I can't sleep so I decided to write fanfiction...
Don't be too sad, when I don't keep updating, but it's not really a planned story...

Chapter 1

Dr. Miranda Bailey, Chief of surgery in Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital sat in her office like she does every Monday morning, but she had a feeling, that something was off that morning. She didn't know why it was there, but she did just sense that something was going to happen on this quiet Monday morning.
Her phone started to ring and she could just feel, that this phone call was responsible for the bad feeling she had. "Dr. Miranda Bailey, Chief of Surgery, Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital, how can I help you?", she answered the phone. "Miranda, it's about your Mom..." "Dad, what happened?" "Your Mom, she didn't want me to tell you, but she's got Alzheimers. I can't take care of her by my own, I need you to help me. Please, Miranda, she is your Mom and we need you.", William Bailey said.
"I need to talk to Ben and I need to think... How couldn't you tell me, Dad? Why didn't you tell me, my Mom is sick? How could you do this to me?" "Miranda, honey, I am so sorry... But please help me, please come here and help me..."

After talking to her father, Miranda Bailey dialed her Husband's phone number. "Hello, Miranda?" "Ben, please come to the hospital, to my office, we need to talk about something..." "Miranda, what's wrong?", Ben Warren asked. "It's about my mom, please come..."
Dr. Bailey put her phone back on her table and started walking through her office. What was she going to do?
Was she able to stay the Chief, when her mother was getting sicker every day? Did she even want to stay the Chief of Surgery? Was it time to find a replacement for herself? She had to fly to her parents for quite a long time, but would she want to get back as chief afterwards? How long did hse have to take care of her Mother? She didn't know...

A knock on the door made Miranda jump out of her thoughts she went to open the door by herself to calm down a little bit and looked straight into Ben's eyes when she told him to enter her office. They sat down on her sofa. "Ben, my Mom's got Alzheimers... I need to help my Dad with her, I need to go live with them for awhile and I can't stay Chief, even when I come back to Seattle, I need to step down..." "But Miranda, being the Chief was always your dream... You could hire someone as Interim Chief, but why do you want to step down completely?", Ben asked . "Ben, I don't know why but I've just got a feeling, that I don't need to be the Chief of Surgery to be happy... I am gonna go to ask someone if she wants the job." "Who is it?" "Cristina Yang."

Ben looked at Miranda with a strange look. "Do you think she will accept? We both know that she has got her own hospital, you think she would give it up to come here?" "I don't really know, but I will offer her the Job and I'll see if she decides to come or if she'll stay in Switzerland." "If that's what you say..." Ben looked at Miranda next to him on the sofa and put his arms around her. He pulls her to his chest and hugged her quite strong. Her eyes started to tear up and all Ben Warren could hear for a long time were the quite sobs exiting his wife's mouth while she cried into his chest.

GAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGA

'Ring ring, ring ring' the phone was ringing. "You are speaking to Dr. Cristina Yang, Klaussmann Institute Zurich, why are you calling?" "Cristina, Dr. Yang, how are you?" "Dr. Bailey? Why are you calling me? I'm good, how are you?" "Dr. Yang, I need a favor from you.", Dr. Bailey said. "Ookaaayyy? What is it?", Cristina asked. "My mother, she is really sick, Alzheimers, and my father needs me to help take care of her, so I need someone to take my job. I think it would be best for me, when I step back as chief of surgery, so what do you say?" "I think, I'm coming home."

GAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGA

2 weeks later

Meredith Grey, Cormac Hayes, Jo Karev and Maggie Pierce are on their way to the lecture hall of Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital when Meredith starts talking: "Why didn't Dr. Bailey tell us, that she was stepping back as chief? Some of us would have been happy to apply and get the position... But she had to call some fancy doctor from another hospital... At least it's not Koracick... But who's better than our doctors?" "Let's just hope that it's someone who is qualified enough for the job", Maggie said. Owen Hunt saw Meredith, Maggie, Hayes and Jo talking and went to walk with them. While walking next to them he asked: "Who do you think is gonna be our new chief?" "No Idea...", Dr. Hayes answered. "We're here, let's siit down and get good seats", Jo said while entering the lecture hall.

Miranda Bailey took a last look at her staff before walking onto the stage.
"Dear Doctors at Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital, as you all know I'm going to step down as chief for personal reasons. I want you to meet our new Chief of Surgery who did her residency and her Fellowship at this hospital and is coming back home after a long absence. One of my favorites, she was my Intern, I was her resident."
Meredith turned to look at Owen: "Is she talking about who I think she's talking about? Is she talking about her?" "I think so, I really think so... I hope so..."
"Meet our new Chief of Surgery, Dr Cristina Yang."
