Shade had reached the shores of the hoarfrost reach, after some time. He was wandering around the cooled beach, when he spotted a strange elder dragon sitting on the rocks. She had blue and red scales, a strange head, tendrils along her jaw, and had black eyes with red pupils. Shade crept closer, in case the elder dragon was hostile. As he got closer, he happened to hear a soft humming. He realized that the humming was coming from the elder dragon herself. In a strange way, it was oddly soothing. But shade put these thoughts aside, and stood behind the elder dragon. The elder dragon saw shades reflection however, and whipped her head around to see shade raising one of his scythe-like forearms. The elder dragon reacted quickly, using her claws to knock shade off the rock she was sitting on. The elder dragon began to charge electricity within her claws, as she lept down to finish off her attacker. However, she then felt a strange substance blind her. She quickly figured out that it was webbing, as the rest of her body became immobilized. As the elder dragon struggled to free herself, she regained her sight as shade removed the Webbing around her eyes. "You have the next ten seconds to release me before I reduce you to a smoldering husk!" The elder dragon growled. "Your going to answer my questions, and your going to do so without resistance. Understood?" Shade said. The elder dragon, her body restrained, reluctantly became silent. "Now, from what I was told, you happen to know my target. Where is she?" Shade said. "What target?" The elder dragon said. "Do not play dumb with me. I was informed that you know Velkhana. Where is she." Shade said, pressing the end of one of his forearms on the elder dragons neck, causing a small stream of blood to trickle. The elder dragon began to understand why shade was here in the first place. "You'll never kill her. She's more powerful than you think." The elder dragon said. "Do I look like I care how powerful she is? I kill whatever I am told to kill. I have no choice in the matter." Shade said, the same blank expression on his face. "By the way, you might want to move a little." The elder dragon said. "And why is that?" Shade said, his forearm twitching. "Because Velkhana is right above you." The elder dragon said. Shade only had a second to process this, before he found himself flying backwards. When he righted himself, he saw Velkhana freeing the elder dragon from the webbing.
"Are you alright Namielle?" Velkhana said, her voice layered with fear. "I'm alright, if you exclude the cut on my neck" Namielle said. Velkhana slowly turned to face shade, a look of anger plastered on her face. Shade was calm, and circled Velkhana. "You already know why I'm here. I was tasked to kill you, and bring back your head as proof." Shade said. "I don't know who tasked you to assassinate me, but I won't let you hurt another soul!" Velkhana snarled, summoning her ice armor. "We shall see about that." Shade said. The two monsters stared each other down, waiting for an attack. Shade moved first, slashing at Velkhana with rapid speed. Velkhana dodged the attacks with ease, and fired her ice breath at shade. Shade easily dodged this, and used his webbing to close Velkhana's mouth. Velkhana, surprised by this, then found that her legs had been bound together, Along with her wings. As Velkhana struggled to free herself from the webbing, she saw Namielle attempting to distract shade, only to be restrained by shades webbing. With Namielle unable to help, Shade could now kill Velkhana with ease. As Shade raised his forearm, ready to land the finishing blow, he suddenly grabbed by Valomyr, who had seen what had happened. Valomyr pulled Shade close to his face. "Get out." Valomyr said. Shade was about to respond, when he suddenly was thrown up, and smacked away by the iron tail of Valomyr. Shade went flying, and crashed near an entry hole, one that had been recently made from the looks of it. Shade wanted to go back to fighting, but his instincts told him to fight another day. As Shade went down the entry tunnel that led to jade colony, he had a gut-wrenching feeling that queen emerald would not be happy with him.Queen emerald was busy making her soldiers expand the entry tunnels to the jade colony. Alatreon was supervising with queen emerald, impresses by the amount of work that the seltas were putting into construction. "You are certain that jade colony will help me with my plan?" Alatreon said. "Why of course it will! My soldiers are controlled by me, so that nothing can go wrong." Queen emerald said. "By the way, how is your assassin doing." Alatreon said. "Hopefully he has not failed me. He knows what punishment I will give him if he fails me." Queen emerald said. But as soon as Queen emerald finished speaking, she heard Shade crawling up to her. "I see you have returned. Where is Velkhana's head?" Queen emerald asked. Shade braced himself for what was coming. "I have not killed her. But-" Shade said before being interrupted by a furious queen emerald. "WHAAAAAAAAT!!!" Queen emerald screamed. Alatreon snorted. "I am disappointed in you Queen emerald. I thought I could trust you to give me a component Assassin, but it seems I was wrong." Alatreon said. "WAIT! Don't worry my guest, I'm sure he will do it sooner or later!" Queen emerald said, begging for a second chance. "Fine. But do not have him fail me again." Alatreon said as he spread his wings and flew away. Queen emerald turned to face Shade. "My queen, I beg you to have mercy!" Shade said, terrified. "GUARDS! TEACH THIS INCOMPETENT FOOL A LESSON!" Queen emerald shrieked. Shade then felt four different seltas guards mindlessly drag him off to be punished. Shade braced himself for the abuse that was to follow. As shade was held down by one seltas, the other three seltas guards took turns striking him with their forearms, causing nasty wounds to form. As shade screamed in pain, wishing for this to stop, he saw queen emerald thunder into the room. Queen emerald pinned the assassin down, and got in his face. "You listen here. I raised you when nobody else did. I saved you from being cannibalized by your mother. I made you what you are, and what you always will be. A cold, cruel, monster." Queen emerald spat. Shade lowered his head in defeat, his wounds making him dizzy. "You have two days to kill or bring Velkhana to me. If you fail, I will have you executed. UNDERSTAND!!" Queen emerald roared. "Yes...." Shade weakly said. "Good. Guards, throw him out." Queen emerald ordered. The guards dragged a nearly unconscious Shade out of the center of jade colony. Queen emerald sighed and sat down. For the past week, she was stressed that Alatreon would strip her of her power for letting the secret weapon be destroyed by any possible enemies. Queen emerald promised herself that she would have Shade capture the one monster that could expose the secret weapon to the monsters on the surface, and execute Velkhana herself, at any cost.
