╔══════════════╗ c h a p t e r f i v e; merle and prayer ╚══════════════╝
The days had passed impossibly slow for the new inhabitants of the West Georgia Correctional Facility. Just like in the town of Woodbury, the Andrews family had to once again get settled and familiar in a new place with a whole other group of people. Many had concerns considering just a short week beforehand the people of the prison were considered terrorists.
After Rick and his family took in the town of Woodbury into their own home, it took awhile for everyone to get used to the other group that they now had to care for. Most of the civilians from Woodbury did not know how to protect themselves or others, despite James Andrews offering the people a chance to learn. They believed that they would be living the rest of their lives behind the security of their precious Governor and his sturdy walls that could never be breached. How wrong they were considering their leader, that they believed in would protect them against the outside, had abandoned them into the hands of the people he had called murderers.
During the first couple of hours of the Andrews family getting settled into a cell, Gina began to question the whereabouts of a certain redneck. She had even brought a few books from the Woodbury library for the older man. She thought that he would enjoy a good amount of escape from the cracked, concrete walls and the doors with bars. Gina then went to the first person she could think of that would know what corner of the prison where Merle could be hiding in.
His younger brother.
Leaving the confinements of her cell with a small stack of books in her hands, Gina began to work her way through the prison while sending polite smiles and head nods to people she knew and even to the people she didn't. They would be living together under one roof from now on, so better start playing nice with them from the start. The original prison group knew of the Andrews woman. She was spoken about before many had the chance to even meet with her. Her risking her place in Woodbury to help the rescue team escape after Daryl, Glenn, and Maggie were taken gave her a head start towards gaining their trust.
When she finally found him he was outside working on some new arrows from what it looked like. Approaching the table, Gina didn't miss the way his hands stopped moving for a second without looking up, like he knew someone was walking up to him, before continuing to work of wielding the stick with a long hunting knife.
"Hey," without waiting for a response from the silent man, Gina took a seat on the opposite side of the picnic table. She could get the impression that he only wished to be left alone, so she won't be disturbing his peace for long as she decided to get straight to the point. "Where's Merle? I've been walking this prison for what has felt like hours trying to find him, so I figured I would just ask you since your his brother. Figured he might be out hunting or something."
