Before she could even shut her front door to her apartment, Gina is wrapped up in the strong arms of her husband. Returning the comforting hug, she could feel the relief coming from both parties at knowing that the other is safe and sound.
"God, I was so worried about you," James releases his wife before placing his forehead against hers and leaning in to press a soft kiss against her lips. "When we got separated I just assumed you had come back here, but then when I found that you weren't.."
James drifted off before letting out a soft sigh and leaning away from his wife. He began to analyze her to put his mind at ease that she was in fact unharmed. When he saw no forming bruises, scratches, or blood he finally was about to begin to calm himself down.
"I'm fine, James. I promise," Gina began to run her hands up and down his arms in an attempt to comfort him. Then she thought about why he had made it back to their apartment before her, and she wondered if she should tell James about what she did for Merle and that group of people. If Merle had been correct about what the Governor would do if he learned of her betrayal, then would it be the right move to bring her husband into that?
If what that stranger and Merle said was correct, was it the right thing to risk the both of them and leave their son orphaned and in the hands of Woodbury? Until she knows what the right thing to do, Gina plans to keep her betrayal of Woodbury to herself to protect her family.
"Momma?"
Gina disconnected her stand with her husband before rushing to her son's bed when she heard him call out for her. Ben was sitting up in his twin sized bed while rubbing at his tired eyes.
"Hi, sweetie," Gina sat on the edge of his bed with James following shortly behind her. "I'm sorry if we woke you up. Go back to sleep. You have school tomorrow."
With a yawn escaping at the mention of sleep, Ben sluggishly nodded his head, probably not even processing his mother's words with his half asleep state, before laying back down. Gina gripped onto his blanket before bringing it up right underneath his chin to make sure he stayed warm.
"I love you, Momma. I love you, Dad," Ben says to both of his smiling parents before finally drifting back off to sleep.
Watching her son sleep for a few more minutes, Gina began to think about what Merle and that strange man said to her before they went their separate ways. Is her family truly safe here with a leader that kidnapped a man and then tried to make that man fight his brother to death for entertainment purposes?
