Regrets and No Regrets

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY BEEN THREE WEEKS," Tori sighed tiredly as she sat curled up in one of the chairs in the student lounge.

They had only been in school for three weeks and it was already killing her. It was nice to see Sweet Pea and her friends in the hallways and in classes but school still felt like hell, especially with everything that happened in Riverdale. As usual, there was some pretty weird stuff going on, starting with a Gryphons and Gargoyles game manual in her locker and in everyone else's. She had no idea how that happened but it did. She recognized the game as the one Ben and Dilton played before they died and she just had a bad feeling about it so she didn't even read it and just threw it in the nearest trash can on her way to class.

Fangs laughed. "Three weeks and you already feel like dying?" he asked.

"Oh no, I've felt like dying for months now so this is nothing new," Tori said nonchalantly as she sat up straight. What she said were her honest thoughts since the last couple of months have been hellish on everybody even though they all tried to keep their heads up. Everywhere she looked, someone was reading the Gryphons and Gargoyles game manual and it was getting tiring. "Plus, seeing that damn game manual everywhere I look is getting annoying."

"It's just a game though," Toni laughed while shrugging her shoulders.

"It's not that simple, Toni. Two kids played that game and now they're dead," Tori said while crossing her arms.

"By drinking poison and jumping out a window, not by playing a board game," Toni pointed out.

"Still, doesn't that raise a red flag to any of you guys?" Tori asked.

Her friends only shrugged her shoulders while she bit her lip and stood up. Lunch was almost over anyway and she needed to get to her biology class with Marissa. It was nice to have a familiar face even after all these weeks and it was kind of like last year, except this time they were friends and not unrequited enemies. She still had no idea how they reached that milestone but it was what it was. Sometimes she even wondered why she didn't hate Marissa after everything that happened between them. Any rational person wouldn't befriend her after being treated so terribly, yet Tori gave her a second chance but she didn't know why. Maybe it was because she didn't really know her before she saw her vulnerable side. At the end of the day, there was no point in dwelling on it so she just had to put those thoughts aside and go to class.

When she got to class, she just plopped don in her seat and let her head rest in her hand with her elbow on the desk. Eventually, Marissa did show up and smiled as she sat down next to her and Tori smiled back.
