Samantha Sites walked through the metal gates of the skate park, board in hand.
Jeez... I am seriously screwed... I can't skate at all... Tell me why again I let Dani talk me into this? She bit her lip nervously. Her friend, Danielle, skipped happily in front of her."Come on Sammy!" She called, running backwards.
I am so going to fall and break my arm or something... Sam sighed.Danielle smirked, rolling her eyes playfully, almost reading Samantha's mind. "Come on! You'll be fine! Just stick with me!" She winked, running ahead.
Sam sighed again, sitting down to change into her flat shoes, laying her board on the ground. "Damn... Why did I let you talk me into this?" She laughed.
Danielle smiled, running her fingers through her hair. "Because you looooooove me!" She giggled.
Sam rolled her eyes, smiling. "After today, I won't be so sure."
Danielle laughed. She looked away momentarily, flipping her brown hair with red ombre. Her face flushed, looking back to Sam. "Sam, turn around." She gasped. "Wait! Just kidding, don't... Don't let them know we're staring..." Her voice trailed off.
"Staring at what?" Sam said, raising her eyebrow, glancing behind her quickly. "Oh.... Shit. Dani!" Her cheeks turned bright red, and she started to giggle.
Dani giggled, hiding her face in her hands. "I know! I know!" She couldn't help but stare, to the annoyance of Samantha.
"Dani! Let's go! Stop staring!" Sam shook Danielle's shoulders, snapping her out of it. She grabbed her hand, pulling her away.
"Sorry!" Danielle laughed, dragging behind her friend. "But the blonde one is seriously hot!" She giggled.
Sam smiled, sitting on the edge of the rink, hanging her feet down, her board under her arm. "Say it any louder?! They're coming this way!" She said, turning away from the guys, her face a bright, crimson red.
Danielle smirked, grabbing Sam's hand, pulling her back up. "Okay! Then act like we never looked! Start skating!" She stood on her board, hesitating for a split second, the sun beating down on her already tanned skin. She dropped down, speeding quickly to the other side, going up and over the edge like a pro, according to Samantha.
Sam bit her lip. "How do you even stand on this?!" She called. "Like, how did you do that?"
Danielle laughed, calling back to her. "Just, I don't know, stand on it!"
Sam almost facepalmed. "What the fuck...." She sighed, standing on the back of the board. To her horror, the board flew out from under her, falling down to the bottom of the rink.
Much to Danielle's amusement, one of the guys had seen her standing on the back of the board, and caught her just in time before she hit the concrete. She smirked.
Samantha opened her eyes, feeling none of the pain she had braced herself for. "What...?" Her face turned completely red. "H-how did you...?" She smiled nervously, trying not to shake. The brown-haired guy, about 5'6 in height, laughed, helping her back up.
Sam swallowed hard, then exhaled. Great... Now I HAVE to talk to him...
She smiled nervously, feeling her face flush. "Thank you... So much." She bit her lip. Dammit... What a stupid way to start a conversation...
He laughed, smiling wide. "You're welcome!" He looked down, then back up at her. "You really have no earthly idea to what you are doing, do you?" He smiled good-naturedly.
Sam blushed. "Not a clue." She giggled.
The guy picked up her board, still smiling at her. "Okay, then let me teach you!" He placed his left foot on the back of the board, and his right in the middle. "See, like this!" He said, getting off and handing it to Sam, smiling at her.
"Okay, so when you're about to go, put your dominant foot on the front of the board, and you'll stand on it the right way."
Sam bit her lip. "Uh... Okay!" She placed her feet exactly as he had, and smiling when she
stands on the skateboard without falling on her face. "I-I think I'm doing it!" He laughed. "It's Chad." Sam smiled sheepishly, stepping off the board and picking it up. "Sam." Chad smiled. "Nice to meet you." They gently shook hands and their eyes met and Sam chuckled, then flushed bright red.
