Fighting Sleep

I do not want to sleep.

It only brings fear.

Fear so deep and vivid.

I can only imagine what would happen,

If I never slept again.

I get dizzy and sore.

My head aches.

But that's what happens when you don't sleep.

I fear,

That if I fall asleep,

I will not wake.

I will sleep for years, like sleeping beauty,

But I will die sooner.

Forgive me.

I am selfish.

But I will not sleep.
