Stevie was laying on the couch with the dogs reading a magazine and she could hear it before she could see it.

"Daddy why can't Lola and I go to Los Angeles and get school clothes. I'm sick of school clothes shopping around town. There's like NOTHING here. You wouldn't have to drive us, we can drive ourselves and we have our own money." Livinia screeches.

"Because it's in Los Angeles." Lindsey states as he enters the living room.

"LA isn't even that bad. I want to go and explore. I'm not a little girl anymore."

"You're only sixteen."

"I'm practically an adult dad!"

"I said NO, that's final."

"Mom." She looks at Stevie and Stevie panics slightly.

"What?" Stevie asks.

"He won't let me go to Los Angeles with Lola to school clothes shop."

"Well, you girls aren't going by yourself." She shakes her head.

"But why can't I just go to a mall." She whines.

"Do you wanna go to the mall in Los Angeles." Stevie states.

"I do." She nods.

"Alright, I'll say this, I don't like that you're pitting me up against your father, that's not how having two parents work. But if you really wanna go. I will go with you. But if I go with you, it's me Karen, Bruce, Butch, and Brody."

"Who's Burce, Butch, and Brody?"

"My bodyguards. Three very big very strong Asian men who could literally snap you in half." Stevie crosses her arms.

"I don't want to go with Body Guards, I just wanna have a girls trip with me and Lola."

"Next option, you, your mother, Lola, Karen, and Colton go to the Westvilliage Mall." Lindsey states.

"Fine. But I hate you both." She huffs plopping down on the couch.

"For what it's worth. Los Angeles isn't special. There's a lot of drugs, a lot of crime, and a lot of paparazzi. It's disgusting." She states.

"But you live in LA."

"No, I live here, but I do have a house in Santa Monica. It's half an hour away from Los Angeles. The only time I lived in Los Angeles was in the seventies in an apartment and it was much safer. I'm not comfortable with you going to the mall like that in LA so I can understand where your dad is coming from and trust me, I've dealt with some pretty wacky people in my life especially from Los Angeles. We just want you to be safe, and even though you may think you're almost an adult you're still our little girl and you will be until we die. Even when you're forty and I'm eighty-nine." Stevie states.

"I just...I hate Agoura Hills there's nothing here." She states.

"Everything is here." Stevie states.

"What?"

"The air is clear, it's not smoggy and gross, the views are gorgeous, the people are nice and everyone knows each other. In Los Angeles, it's not." Stevie shakes her head.

Stevie was blowing drying her hair at her little vanity after taking a shower that night and as she was doing that, Lindsey came up behind her and rubbed her shoulders over her white silk bathrobe. She turned the blow dryer off and then she peered up at him over her shoulder.

"You handled that well." He states.

"What?" She asks.

"Livvy this afternoon." He explains.

"I just told her the truth." Stevie shrugs.

"But you did it well. You were a good mom today Steph, and you're always a good mom, but today you were definitely a good mom." He tells her.

"Well, I'm glad you think so." Stevie states.

"I do. I love you." He kisses the top of her head.

"I love you too. Lindsey, I've been thinking about something." She sighs.

"Hm,"

"Well...remember how I said I want to retire?" She asks.

"I do yes." He nods.

"What if, and you can disagree with me, but what if I go in starting in the New Year. I have a vault of demos in Santa Monica that are good but were dropped from various albums and what if I...went in for three months and I re-recorded them and I put out one last album, I'd tour in the summer and the end of the year because I'm going to have to go overseas and do this big farewell-ish tour." Stevie states.

"Farewell-ish tour?" He asks.

"Nothing big, just every once in a while every few summers I'd go out on the road."

"Stevie all I want is for you to be happy. If that's what's going to make you happy then go for it, but if you leave again..." He trails off.

"I won't Lindsey, I won't. I promise I won't this is home. Here, with my babies." Stevie shakes her head.

"Do you promise?" He asks.

"I do, I promise from the bottom of my heart." She nods.

"Okay, It has been one of my dreams for the longest time to go to one of your concerts." He smirks.

"Really?" She asks.

"Well, I've been a fan for a long time. And Liv sings like a canary and I know she's taken an interest in music so maybe, it'll...maybe it'll spark something in her." Lindsey shrugs.

"Lindsey, take me to bed." She states.

"In what connotation?" He asks.

"Well, I currently don't have anything on under my robe..." She trails off.

"Ms. Nicks..." Lindsey tsks.

They were laying there in their sex-after glow Lindsey grabbed Stevie's hand.

"What?" She asks.

"Let's put some clothing on and go for a midnight ride." Lindsey suggests.

"Are you serious. It's the middle of the night, it's dark." Stevie states.

"We've done it before." Lindsey shrugs.

"Well where would we go?" Stevie inquires.

"Just up to the Ridge." Lindsey smiles.

"Mm, i'm going to have to put clothes on but I kind of want too." Stevie states.

Lindsey and Stevie did take the midnight ride to the Ridge and they did end up sleeping there like they did when they were younger and as they were riding up to the house, Colton and Livinia were waiting for them on the front porch.

"Where did you go this early in the morning?" Colton questions.

"Well look at us son, Where do you think we went," Lindsey smirks as Stevie just leans over and hugs the horse.

"And anyway you two look like you've seen a ghost. What's going on?" Stevie asks as Lindsey hops off the horse and helps Stevie down.

"Lola called, she's at the hospital with the police." Livinia states.

"Why is she with the cops?" Lindsey inquires.

"I don't know but they want you to go to the Hospital. And i"m going with you." She states.

"No, just your mom and I are going." Lindsey states handing the horses off to Colton steering Stevie towards the truck.
