Line Without A Hook is the second track on the Montgomery Ricky album. The song describes a relationship that is failing and is in need of change. Ricky sings about how the feeling of falling out of love is present and he wonders if his partner still feels the same way about him and whether he is worthy of her.
I would say some of the best lyrics from this song is:
"It's a curse,
And it's growing,
You're a pond and I'm an ocean"
The song has such a deep meaning behind it and I personally can relate to the feelings portrayed within the song.
However, my favourite lyrics from the song is:
"The wind is a-pounding on my back,
And I found hope in a heart attack"
The annotation of these lyrics explains that Ricky has found the reason the relationship is failing and knows how to change it in order to keep the one he loves.
I personally would give this song a 9/10. I know this song is one of the most popular songs from the album and for good reason.
Because 'she's a, she's a lady and I am just a line with a hooooooooooooooooooooooo-'
