The second day of the convention was lighthearted. The trio didn't have any scheduled events happening. The rest of their friends did, participating in panels, doing meet and greets, other various activities.
What did they do?
Act like actual jack asses.
They all grabbed hats and sunglasses, obscuring their faces and wearing merch from their friends.
They were going to infiltrate the crowds of people and see what happened. They walked to the convention, standing in line to buy regular people passes with their own money. Clay had just done his face reveal, which literally covered twitter for HOURS after. George and Nick had revealed their faces ages ago, but the risk was all the same, based on what happened at the airport two days prior.
They ran about, interacting with people who were wearing their merch, asking questions about themselves with horribly conjured accents. It was hard for them to keep it up but they were having a blast, pestering people and making them freak out when they realized exactly who they were.
They spent a lot of the day telling fans to keep it hush, and offering discreet selfies in the crowd to buy their loyalty.
They continued to do that, and spend the day like regular people, pretending like they weren't as famous as they were. They found comfort that they could find a bit of normalcy at a place like a convention, but they were having the time of their lives.
Soon enough the convention center died down, everyone going back to their rooms for the night. And it was no different for the Dream team. They burst through the door, laughing their asses off as they made it to the suites couch. They had just pranked Karl and Alex, by pretending to be die hard fans at their doors. The prank itself was horribly executed, since Karl and Alex knew it was their friends the second they opened the door, but the trio was far too giddy to care since they were having so much fun.
George and Clay flopped down onto the couch together, calming down and shoving each other to make themselves quit laughing, but it only made them break out in laughter again.
"Today was really fun." George said, after he was able to calm down and breathe. Clay nodded in approval, looking over at his friend with a giddy grin.
As they winded down on the couch, George slowly leaned onto Clays shoulder, watching the tv, that was broadcasting Tubbo's live feed of the convention, which was strapped to Ranboo's head.
Clay looked over, carefully to not disturb, and stared fondly at George who was starting to fall asleep. He lifted his arm and wrapped it around the smaller, pulling him in closer and resting his head on Georges.
George leaned forward, which confused Clay. Did he not want to cuddle? Clay panicked, worried that he made too much of an advance.
But George only grabbed the blanket on the foot stool in front of them, and leaned farther back into Clay once he had the blanket covering his feet that were now pulled in closer to his body. Clay relaxed, and his anxieties were eased.
They settled into each other, watching Ranboo wander around the venue. Clay was happy. This is what he wanted, to just be able to spend time with George and warm up to him so that he could reveal his feelings. The ones he had felt for a long time now. George fit perfectly at his side, and he looked so cute and content to Clay.
At some point George fell asleep, but Clay didn't dare move. Nick had walked out of him room and saw the two, but he knew how both of them felt about each other and he was just waiting for them to finally spill. He carefully tip toed away with an encouraging thumbs up, smiling, and probably knowing how his best friend felt in that moment.
Clay only rolled his eyes as he adjusted himself a little. The couch was less then comfortable, so he decided the bed would do better. He carefully scooped George up in his arms, the blanket still wrapped around the smaller.
The pullout couch was too much work, and he hoped George wouldn't mind if they shared a bed for the night. He laid him into the covers, pulling them up to his shoulders to keep him warm. Clay then slid into the covers himself, making sure to keep his distance.
But George woke up, despite Clays best efforts to not do so, and he felt his heart flutter when he realized that the other had stayed. He rolled himself over and wrapped his arms around Clays waist, startling him. Clay looked back, just to make sure George was alright, and all George did was smile, just like he had seen Clay do so many times before.
Clay smiled back, admiring a sleepy George.
They fell asleep like that, getting a few silent whoops from Nick when he noticed them spooning in the bed.
