Enzo's pov

I opened the door to where Lisa was kept and saw her lying lifelessly on the bed, I knew she was awake but she neither moved nor turned her head when I opened the door.

"Let's talk."

"I'm listening."
Her weak voice said but she didn't still turn towards me.

"Why are you here."

"Why can't I be here, this is my home."

"This isn't your home, it was never your home."
She turned to mock me with her eyes as if I was a joke.

"Never my home? But we shared everything here."

I inhaled deeply to keep my anger low. "You betrayed me."

"How many times will I tell you I don't know anything that fucking happened. I was out, and the next time I woke up I found myself in your wood injured. Why can't you believe me."
She snapped with tears in her eyes.

I am so confused right now, she seems to be telling the truth but I witnessed everything, the betrayal, the agony, the pain.

"I'm going to tell you what happened, Gabriel's bunch of rogues beat me useless after you ditched me and a war in which you were the sole proprietor."

"I don't know any of this. I thought you loved me."

"You took advantage of the love besides I have someone else now, she's my mate and I love her more than I ever did to you."

"Why are you doing this."

"Get the fuck out of my territory." I stood up ready to leave but she stopped me by holding my hands.

"You know I have nowhere else to go, please just let me stay for a few days then I'll leave."

I looked at her and her eyes eventually made me soften, not that I still have feelings for her but it's only natural to let her leave after she recovers.
I snapped my hand back and walked out without any words to her.

She was once the girl I wanted to settle down with, she made me fall in love, and weeks later she crashed that love, I'm grateful because I don't know what would have happened if Ava had shown up while we were still together.

I went over to Hugo's office to know of a recent development, if the man we caught has opened up.

"Hey, man."

He looked up from his iPad and gave me a gentle smile.
"How did it go with Lisa."

"She's still saying the same thing."

"Just get rid of her already. We don't know the kind of harm she will bring to Ava."

"You talk like you care for Ava a lot."

"I do shit head. I care for her that's why I am doing everything to make sure she is safe and the number one threat is that girl Lisa."

"I know I will quickly discard her but right now has that stupid rogue confessed yet."

"He rather he's killed than spilling anything."

I stood up, I was ready to go spend time with Ava. "Keep pressing, I need to go."

"To Ava?" I nodded and he gave me a mocking smile.
"Keep natural, you know she eavesdropped on our conversation earlier on."

Not that I didn't know, I sensed her even before she stepped closer to us.
"That's why I have to spend today with her. Help me handle the rest of my work."
