Chi shivered and pulled the shawl closer around herself. Fog swirled around her, and clouds enclosed the scarce light of the moon. Aware of how easily it tired her, she spared herself turning somewhat human; this neighbourhood was quiet any time past 11:30. Her lower lip trembling, what-ifs crowded her mind as she worried continuously about her half-blood companions. What if their parents stopped them? What if their mothers and fathers... punished them? Guilt created a lump in her throat that she couldn't shake, despite the absolute lack of disastrous occurrences.

Reflecting on the brief last meetings she had seen both Raven and Accalia she reflected on their reactions to the matter of their parentage. The memories of Accalia's shocked face as the secrets of Greek mythology had come tumbling from Chi's mouth, the tone of disbelief in Raven's voice as she asked countless questions (all of which Chi answered carefully) still lingered, fresh in her mind.

A rustle in the bushes behind her compelled her to make a squeak of fear she failed to mask. The sudden movement made her thoughts disappear in an instant.

"Relax, it's me," Raven said in a not-so-reassuring tone.

She shook her head vigorously in an attempt to shoo away dark thoughts.

"Have you seen Accalia?" inquired the nervous satyr, her voice brittle.

Raven shook her head, shooting another arrow of anxiety into the center of Chi's fragile heart.

The temperature only seemed to be getting worse, until her breath formed plumes and puffs as she exhaled into the frosty air. Combing her frail fingers through her pale ribbon-like hair, she attempted to distract herself, at least until the daughter of Athena's arrival.

Chi felt sick. Half past midnight was fast approaching, and Accalia was everything but late, however that small encouragement was nothing compared to the overpowered paranoia. Raven had been there when she had scheduled this meeting, she couldn't have not known. Or could she? Seconds ticked by like years.

Fortunately, one of these fateful 'years' held Accalia bursting through the gates, demanding that they begin their expedition to Half-Blood Hill.

The trio gathered in a circle around a patch of dirt in the park, where Chi apprehensively, in a hushed voice, ran through the plans for their travel.

"Apo- Our ride should be here soon," she finished carefully.

Refusing to meet their gazes, Chi stared at the ground. For she knew the suspicion that would linger in the curves of their mouths and the confusion in the furrowing of their brows; it made her rectangle-goat-pupils widen in fear.

A flicker of light sparkled out against the road, breaking the silent gloom of night. However, no sparkling fireworks shot up from the ground. Only a cherry-red Maserati pulling up by the sidewalk.

Maserati... why does that ring a bell?

"Listen closely, Chi, for this conversation shall be short. Apollo will come and fetch you with the Sun Chariot," Chiron explained, his smile still friendly but a fiery determination glittered in his eyes, "However, if he has paid attention, it will be disguised as a..."

Oh!

Without a word, the little satyr snatched the half-bloods' hands and galloped to the car, the demi-gods stumbling as she out-ran them. Raven let out a grunt of protest.
