WARNING, SPOILERS! if you have not seen season 14 of criminal minds then you will not get it.

NOTES, i'm sorry but after season 14 i don't like jj😐 this is also a request from myself😃

amber stared at the screen of the computer. she didn't what to feel because she had a gut feeling JJ had feelings for spencer, it didn't bother amber until JJ finally admitted them to spencer. it made him have an option of getting together with another woman, leaving amber alone.

her mind started racing with thoughts, but the main one that stuck was telling her to leave. spencer had already shot the unsub, so it was all right for amber to leave and go back to the police station. briskly, she took her vest off and placed it with a table. just as she was about to leave the tent, someone grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.

david stood there behind her, a curious look on his aged face. "and where do you think you're going, agent beckett?" he questioned, already knowing why she looked so troubled.

amber thought she'd fall in his arms crying on the spot. but, she collected her thoughts together and switched her weight on either side of her feet. "back to the police station, we're done here, right?" she said sternly.

"amber—"

"i know you know what's wrong with me and i just need to go before JJ or spencer catch me leaving, all right?" amber confessed, sticking her hand out so david could give her the keys to the car.

"do you want me to go with you?" he was honestly concerned for amber because he knew that her past relationships didn't end well and she didn't want her and spencer's relationship to end because of another option.

glancing over david's shoulder, amber saw spencer and JJ glancing over at each other and almost instantly, she felt her heart shatter into pieces. "please, come with me."

"of course."

once the jet landed on ground, amber didn't bother saying anything to the rest of the team— actually, she didn't know what to say to them— she knew that everybody, but JJ and spencer, weren't included on the, "truth or dare," situation. amber simply didn't want to talk or tell anyone what she thinking.

spencer tried to have small talk with her on the jet, she ignored him. same with JJ, amber ignored her too. she understood it wasn't JJ's fault about confessing her love to spencer, but it didn't feel good to amber because it left spencer with options of women to choose from.

the brunette rushed to her desk and grabbed her purse, shoving her phone and keys in the bag. the team came through the doors with small longing looks on their face since they were just told the news too.

she gazed around at the team, skipping over JJ and spencer, and made eye contact with emily. "when you're not busy, can we talk, please?" amber questioned the chief once she passed by the desk.

emily gave her friend a look and nodded slowly, "yeah, just let me get unpacked."

sadness clenched at her heart again once she saw spencer at his desk, glancing over at her own desk. he had a look, a look basically asking her if the two could talk but currently, amber didn't want to do anything that included him or JJ. so, she stayed at her desk until emily called the brunette into her office.

"you wanted to talk?"

"yeah," amber could feel tears rushing to her eyes. "could i have a few days off? um... after tonight... i-i just don't feel good."

emily took a step closer to the woman and sat down next to her. "do you wanna talk about it?"

the two had been friends ever since amber joking the BAU, so they knew everything about one another. the two always hung out with one another whenever they weren't busy. emily was the first person amber went to if she had a problem, same went with emily.

amber ran her fingers through her hair and pierced her lips together. "i feel over dramatic asking for a few days off... i just... i can't do anything that includes them right now. i'm sorry, em."

"no, i completely understand," emily nodded and hugged her friend. "take all the time you need, amber. i'm always free if you wanna talk, just call."

"i know, thank you, em." then, she left her friend's office and ambled down the stairs, avoiding eye contact with the rest of the team.

once she left the building, spencer rushed toward emily's office and didn't bother to knock. "why'd amber leave?"

she shrugged. "i don't know, she asked for a couple days off and i thought nothing of it. but now, since i am... it's probably because of what happened tonight."

"it wasn't JJ's fault though, allen was going to shoot us if JJ hadn't told him what he wanted to hear," spencer explained, confusion wrapping around his head. "why would she be upset? she understands what would happen if JJ hadn't had done that, right?"

"of course she does, spence. she's just... unhappy with the news and worried about the future," emily sighed. "just give her a few days and let her come to you. don't push her because if you do, she won't open up to you and won't tell you why she's bothered."

spencer felt the worry flow over him and nodded weakly. though he was very quick-witted, he didn't understand why amber was distressed with what JJ said. he understood that JJ confessed something thought amber and him were in a relationship, but he couldn't think of anything other reason.

"good night, spence," emily hollered softly once he started her office and into the bullpen. he returned with a wave and collected his thing from his desk, not bothered to talk to tell anyone else tonight.

his main focus was to see if amber had went to her apartment or his and see if she would answer one of calls— one call turned in to ten calls, with no answer— he texted her a few times and wanted to smash his phone once she didn't answer him at all.
