The Zoo themed cafe I'm meeting my next clients at is called The Beastros.

Ha! That sounds pretty good for a pun, not gonna lie.

I'm looking out for a dark-haired couple in zoo-keeper uniforms as they told me (already doesn’t sound normal) when a bird suddenly dive bombs me!

Holy Goodness, is that an actual goddamn hawk?

It swoops down right before I think that it's going to claw my face off and yanks my keys out of my purse.

"Hey, those are mine!" I scream but as expected, the hawk doesn’t have enough socializing skills to take the signal and return me my keys with well-manner. So I run after it and try to grab it and,

Ha! Got them!

"Not so fast, buddy" I say glancing at the hawk.

"Rabindranath Tagore!" A man in a zookeeper's growls angrily, yet adorably from the back, startling me

Did he call me that?

"I think you've mistaken me with some famous dead poet!" I state, my jaw clenched ever so slightly.

He shakes his head and points at the hawk, meaning he wasn’t addressing me but the hawk.

Wait a minute, he named the.. bird after..

Okay, nevermind. Not abnormal at all, Niki!

He scoffs. The bird abandons the heist and flies to the shoulder of the handsome young man in a zoo-keeper's uniform.

The bird makes a weird high-pitched squealing sound. I think it's laughing at me. Why does everyone bully me, even the birds?

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry about that! I'm so sorry!" the young man pleads in a childish tone and I realize he's way more adorable than he looks.

A short woman rushes up behind me, she looks more shocked than I am.

"Wow! I've never seen him do that to a stranger before!" she exclaims with amazement

"Wow! I've never seen him do that to a stranger before!" she exclaims with amazement.

Dude, I nearly got a heart-attack and you're amazed?

"Birds will sometimes pick up shiny objects because they fjnd them atttactive, and they think it might be benefial for them in order to find their other half," the man says like it's a very important and serious fact that everyone needs to know, he seems somewhat surprised that I didn’t happen to know that. Should I feel dumb?

"Tagore probably thought this might look good in his next, that's why he took it. That's very fascinating!" the woman says excitedly.

"Zaddy! He just scared the crap out of our wedding planner! Don't praise him! That's not nice and not fascinating at all!" the man says in a terrified face. Finally, I can have some faith in humanity.

Zaddy, okay.. This must be my new clients. Yep, dark-haired couple in zoo-keeper uniforms. Lay Zhang and Bae Zaddy.

"Well, that was quite a huge intro. It's very nice to meet you two, Lay Zhang and Bae Zaddy?" I put on my professional smile.

"Yes, I'm Lay and this is Zaddy," saying so, he elbows her in the side, slightly frowning at her.

"Oh! And we're sorry about our idiot son!" Zaddy speaks immediately like an automated machine.

I chuckle, "Hey, no harm done, right? He didn’t eat my eyeballs up so I think I'd say we're fair and square."

"Don't worry. Red-tailed hawks only eat small mammals, including rodents and rabbits," Lay says.

Oh good, that's comforting.

Zaddy nods "Also kittens, small puppies, chihuahuas.."

Wait what?!

Lay elbows Zaddy again, "Okay, okay, we wouldn’t really give this bird a clean case. But you're safe. Don’t worry."

As they shouldn’t. Man, why they haven’t caged this motherfucker yet? Thanks goodness I didn’t bring my baby chuu.

However, we move to a table and I start asking them my usual rundown of questions about their wedding. In answer to their preferred location for the wedding, they say something I was clearly not expecting at all.

"Actually, we wanna get married outside the panther exhibit Zaddy works in," Lay says casually with a smile.

I laugh nervously, "Okay, that's so very unique. But there aren’t any panthers in the ceremony itself, right?"

"No.." Zaddy informs. Oh thank god! I was nearly expecting to have fighting a panther to keep my job.

She continues, "I mean, originally we had a much more ambitious plan for involving the animals."

"As in?" I raise an eyebrow.

"We wanted a bear to be our ring-bearer. Get it? Ring bearer?" Lay replies excitedly.

"And a peacock, for our flower-girl!" Zaddy claps both her hands together.

"But now we're just going to have Tagore help us out in this case," Lay states.

"Woah, okay, tell me more about Tagore," I ask, in hope to get an answer on why they're prioritizing this motherfucker in such a honouring way. Even I didn’t get that much honour in my life being a human.

"Tagore's the best!" Lay comments immediately, without missing a beat.

"Well, you know, when he's not dive-bombing into strangers, of course," Zaddy says.

"Did you know that red-tailed hawks are monogamous?" Lay asks.

What monogamous even means..

"Oh, oh! And in their breeding season, they do these courtship flights and scream in hope to attract a partner!" Zaddy adds.

"No! No, I don't. I know none of those things and I'm not sure if I even understood what you just said except Tagore's the best," I shrug.

Lay laughs, "You’ll learn, slowly."

I snort, "I've played Zoo Tycoons. I can handle whatever you throw at me."

Lay laughs, "See, Zaddy? We've got a professional in our midst."

"How's your visitor's satisfaction?" Zaddy implores.

"Impeccable!" I reply.

"Wow, you’ve got out hopes so high up," Zaddy says jokingly.

"Well, at least you two are trained professionals. So I'll just let you two deal with all the animals. And I'll handle the wedding stuff!" I say.

"We promise, nothing else in the zoo is gonna steal your keys again!" Lay says. He glances at Zaddy once before he continues speaking..
