💍Chapter 5💍

My heart's pounding so freaking loud. Senior Manager at Twenty? That's so far beyond anything I've ever dreamed of!

"Yep, I'm offering you to be the senior manager of Concept Events, gladly and proudly" he smiles glancing at me.

I shake my head in dismissal, but squealing internally "Are you sure? I mean, are you certain it's alright if I-"

"Well, normally we'd look for someone with a little bit more experience. You know, to assure that they're capable of handling the matters. But since it seems you were already doing the job when you worked for SM anyway, I don't see any reason to not offer you the position."

I can't even begin to fathom the fucking wave of feelings going through me right now. Goodness..

"So? What do you say?" he asks.

I was smiling so wide the whole time even the moment when he asked that. I open my mouth to scream a big fucking YES when suddenly, I freeze.

The smiling faces of Chanyeol and Siyaah flashes before my eyes..then Kyungsoo and Chaeyeon's..then Suho and Hera's..but most of them all, Luhan and Aria's....

Could I really give up on all of this?

Damn, I never realized when and how this became such a huge part of me. Looking back, it feels like I was a different person back then. Everything about me has changed within this few months. And now I'm not even sure if I wanna go back to my old life, even when given all the power and previlige.

"Nini...no. I refuse. I've left that life far behind," I state without any hesitation.

"Wh-what?" Nini gasps "Are you sure? You'd be making quadruple your previous salary! You know that, right?"

"I do know that and that's very generous. And I thank you for that. But my answer's gonna be no anyways" I look away from his eyes, gazing at the picture of Siyaah and Chanyeol on my table. I kept it to wash it and hang it on my wall when I establish my own big office of Wedding Planning.

"Wedding planning on a small scale might be a very hard work, and sometimes it can be very unpredictable. But, for me, its just right." I smile looking up "For the first time in my entire life, I genuinely love the work that I'm doing. Even with SM out of the picture and miles away of my eyesight, I can't go back to Concept Events. I just can't!"

"Oh!" he murmurs. I guess this wasn't the kind of response that he was expecting. But I wanna believe I'm being true to myself and saying the right thing.

"I..can't say I understand your point of view. But if that's what you decided, then I respect your decision and accept it," he assures.

I smile thinly, "Thank you a lot."

"But I'd suggest you reconsider it," he adds. I don't know why he has such an urge to make me the senior officer? He really wants me in there but doesn’t wanna push it upon me. But he does look kinda heartbroken at my refusal.

"Well, nini, um.." I say in a hesitant voice.

He looks upto me, frowning slightly, "Yes?"

"Can I, maybe, have some time to think about this?" I ask. "I'm gonna be honest. I ain't no saint. That amount of money and power's incredibly tempting but..I've actually really become passionate about wedding planning. I don't even know when and how this much passion grew inside me. I don't wanna be an idiot and reject something life-changing on impulse but no matter how much I try to push myself and try to think from the other way, this is catching me behind."

Nini's still looking at me with wide surprised eyes. I don't know what exactly this surprise is for but my breath is turning warm every word I speak.

"See, I really appreciate the offer, please don't think I don't. I'm not that dumb, I swear! But I really need time to, you know..sit back, think and process all of this," I say. I hope whatever I just said wasn’t just pure gibberish and made a little sense to him.

"Of course. Whatever you need. I do realize this is a huge change and to be honest, I appreciate the fact that you're not taking decisions on instinct and not taking this matter lightly," he says. Phew, thank gosh!

"Can I get back to you after Aria and Luhan's wedding? No matter what, I really wanna see that through," I say.

He chuckles, "That was exactly the deadline I was gonna give to you anyway. I was planning on asking you to start working on Concept Events after you'd finish your contract with Aria and Luhan. So, if you change your mind before then, and I'm in no way saying that you must, just remember that my offer still stands."

"Alright, I'll definitely keep that in my mind hun" I shoot him a wink. Suddenly, his face begins to turn red. Gosh, I didn’t mean it that way!

I was about to speak but I didn’t know what to say. Thanks goodness he saves it, "Deal then?" he stretches a hand.

"Deal," I say and when I was about to accept his hands, my phone buzzes in the table. I pick it up and see that I've recieved an e-mail from the city clerk's office.

"Urgent wedding planner business?" Nini implores.

I giggle, "Not really. But my application to perform legal marriages in Seoul was just approved!"

"Woah!" his eyes widen again "That's very impressive."

I think if I got a dollar for each time he was surprised today, I'd be a billionaire.

I laugh it off "I mean, to be honest, it isn’t really that impressive. Just about anyone can get ordained online these days."

He shrugs "Well, that maybe so, I don't have much idea."
