This story, set in Gravity Falls, Oregon, was requested by ShootinggStar124 . There are some spoilers from the series. It is a one shot about how the characters from the TV series Gravity Falls would react to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is told from the point of view of Dipper Pines, one of the main characters in the series. Takes place after Wierdmaggedon, so they are at least 13, but I haven't set a specific age.I stared out of the window of the bus, my sister Mabel chatting excitedly beside me. After months of bugging our parents, we were finally going back to Gravity Falls!
When we were 12 we'd been shipped off to the Falls to give our parents a break for the summer to live with our Grunkle Stan in tourist trap The Mystery Shack. But then Stan's twin brother had come back to earth through a portal and eventually brought about Wierdmaggedon, hosted by insane dream demon Bill Cipher. We'd eventually defeated him, however, and now we were finally returning!
It had taken ages to persuade our parents to let us go, however. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were uneasy about letting us go. Grunkle Stan and his brother Ford had come back from their travels, so we were going to be in a bubble with them, plus Soos, the current Mystery Shack owner. The Shack had been closed since March.
Waddles, Mabel's pig, crawled onto my lap and gave a reassuring oink. He was wearing one of Mabel's hand-knitted sweaters, which matched my sister's. I smiled. He climbed up my shoulders and knocked my lumberjack's hat off. Wendy's hat. I'd be able to return it to her this summer. Hopefully.
"Last call for Gravity Falls!" I hadn't even realised we'd stopped. I stood up, picking up our backpacks as Mabel lifted Waddles off my lap. She squealed next to me as we climbed off the bus. "I can't believe we're back!" I grinned, seeing the crowd outside - Stan, Ford, Soos, and slightly further away, Candy, Grenda and Wendy. They were all wearing different coloured masks - Stan and Ford's were homemade cloth, Wendy's was chequered, Soos' had the Mystery Shack logo on it, and Candy and Grenda's were sparkling with sequins. Wendy was still wearing my blue pine tree cap and pointed to it when she saw me.
We stepped out of the bus. "Hey kids," said Stan and Ford simultaneously, while Candy and Grenda sprinted over. Wendy lagged slightly behind but came over too. "What's up hambone," piped up Soos, knocking my hat sideways. "I missed you all so much!" squealed Mabel, running towards Candy and Grenda. "Yes, us too," said Candy, as Grenda picked up Waddles. They ran off out of earshot, glancing at us and giggling.
"How's life been in the Falls?" I asked Wendy.
"Sooooooo boring," she groaned. "Greasy's is closed, the Northwest's party was made practically illegal, and we're not allowed to go near anyone. Robbie and Tambry are DYING." I laughed. "Here's your cap back," she said, swapping our hats. I smiled.
"You know," said Ford, "I've noticed something strange about the so-called virus. I took a sample and believe that it's partly the work of Bill."
"I think he's finally lost his marbles," hissed Stan, grinning.
"Come on, Dipper," Wendy said, grabbing my arm. "Let's go. The guys are waiting, and there's a lot of ice we still need to pour down Thompson's pants." I smiled to myself as Wendy dragged me along, still chattering about how Blubs and Durland got married last spring or something. I watched Candy and Grenda practically carrying Mabel downtown toward's the Shack. We were finally back in Gravity Falls.
Sorry it was quite short, I know the ending wasn't great but I hope you like it! Thanks @Gargoyle124 for requesting it, it was a great idea and I really enjoyed writing it! Thanks for reading!!
