Kit's Crush

Mingkwan, Ming to his friends, was sitting with his best friend Wayo, Yo for short, waiting on him to get the results of his entrance exam. Ming had already received his results. He had gotten accepted to the Engineering program at K University thanks to his hard work.

He learned from a relative that Yo's crush P'Phana was also attending that University with his two best friends, Beam and Kit or as he always thought of him, KitKat. When he told Yo, he thought he was gonna go deaf or have whiplash from the shaking.

Flashback

"Ming, why do you wanna attend this university? There are so many in Bangkok." Yo asked while digging into his frozen ice.

"Well, I want to be an engineer and this university has the best program. You should apply here too. They have a really good science and medical faculty." Ming answered.

Yo paused to look at his friend. "I don't know Ming. I don't know what I want to study yet. Besides you know I am not good at taking tests. I haven't even begun to review for the entrance exam." Yo then went back to his frozen ice.

"Well Yo, I know you will want to go here once you learn what I just did from my cousin that is attending here." Ming then turned to look at his friend.

"What did you learn Ming?" Yo wasn't really paying attention.

"This is the school where your P'Pha is attending in the Medical Faculty." Ming smirked when he saw that Yo had frozen with his spoon halfway to his mouth.

"Ming! Are you serious? This is where P'Pha is attending? Seriously?!" Yo jumped on his friend hugging him and laughing hysterically. He was sooo excited to learn this.

Yo's Flashback within a flashback?

After he ran away from P'Pha, when he heard him tell his friends that he would never accept a confession from a male, he went straight home and told his dad that he did not want to stay in Bangkok.

His dad had just brokered a deal for a new company in England and would be staying there for the next year. Yo had been going back and forth as to whether he would stay home or go with his dad.

With his heart broken he did not want to stay with the memories. While he was away he spent his time changing himself. He changed to contacts, took care of his skin and started exercising.

At the end of the year, he decided to go back to Bangkok. He missed his best friend. He also missed P'Pha but there was nothing he could do. P'Pha already burst his little bubble of hope.

Yo still had one year to go until he graduated. He had time to get comfortable with the memories.

End of Yo's Flashback

"Ming! What are you waiting for? We need to start studying! Come on! Yo began to pull his friend down the street. Ming laughing at his friends antics along the way.

Unbeknownst to both of them they were being followed. Kit was hiding behind a sign and could hear parts of their conversation.

Kit could not believe his eyes or ears. It was Pha's Wayo. They had searched high and low for him after that day but there was no sign of him and no one knew where he went. They tried to ask Ming but he wouldn't tell them anything.

Kit was happy that Wayo was back. He contemplated telling Pha but he didn't want him to get his hopes up and then Wayo not attend their school. Kit thought he needed to work for it anyway. He hurt Yo with his adamant denial of liking a boy.

     Yo has changed. He looks better even though he was already cute to begin with. Now he looked more mature and if possible even cuter.

Ming hasn't changed a bit, Kit thought. He is still the same handsome boy he remembered from high school. His stomach still flutters when he sees him. Kit absentmindedly rubs his belly.

Having been in his own thoughts, Kit did not notice that the two boys had moved away. He decided instead of following them further he would go back to his dorm. Now that he knows that at least one of them would be attending his university he knew that there would be a high probability of Pha getting his Yo.

     As Kit walked home he couldn't stop thinking about Ming. Why does he always make my stomach feel funny? It is only with him. I have seen girls that I thought were pretty and even talked to a few but none of them ever made me feel this way.

     We have become friends with some of the Engineering guys. Maybe it will give me the opportunity to see him. Then maybe I can finally figure this out.

Just as he stops to wait on traffic before crossing the road, a car passing has their music blasting out of the lowered windows. The song is one Kit knows by heart. It is Crush by Jennifer Paige.

Kit continues to look down the road even though he can no longer see the car. When he heard that song it clicked in his brain why Ming made him feel this way.

Ming is my crush?!

End of flashback

Yo was sitting in front of his computer with his fingers hovering over the enter button. He was nervous. With this one click of a button he will finally know if his score on his entrance exam was high enough to get him into the same university as his P'Pha.

     "Come on Yo! Hit enter already! What are you waiting for?" Ming asked finally losing his patience with his friend. They had been sitting there for the past 20 minutes while Yo hovered over the enter button.

     Yo clears his throat, "Ming, I can't do it. What if I don't get accepted. I already know he doesn't like me but just being able to be near him would be enough."

      "I understand, Yo. I do but not hitting enter is not going to do you any good either. Just hit the button so we can go celebrate us both being accepted. If you can't be positive then I will be positive for the both of us." Ming stated, being his ever practical self. Then he reached across Yo and pushed Yo's fingers down on the enter button before he could stop him.

      "MING! Why did you do that? I can't look. You look and tell me what it says." Yo stated with his eyes screwed shut too scared to look at the screen.

     "Yo, open your eyes. It's okay you can look. I am right here with you." Ming smiled knowing his friend had passed but wanted him to see for himself.
