*Macy
I kinda liked this guy. He had a certain calmness that restrained my fire. Gabriel had brown hair and brown eyes. I liked how he didn't push himself on me like Jordan did. I know Jordan comforts me and everything but it almost makes it worse, because his words, nor his arms give me a comforting feeling, which makes me feel guilty. But just the way Gabriel looked at me made me comfortable around him.
Wow. His eyes are exquisite. They were so deep and consoling. So maybe I had mare than a little crush on him, but the way my life's been lately it was a welcomed relief. What was it that was so compelling about him.
"So... um... can I get these restraints off,"he said awkwardly.
"Oh. Yeah of course." I said as I undid the restraints. He got up and spoke elequantly.
"You are very pretty. I know this but obviously you don't? Why do you deny your beauty? Why?"
"Because I'm not going to be something I'm not."
"But beautiful is what you already are."
"I'm not pretty. At all. I'm... um... basic. There is nothing special about me. Nothing!"
"Well aren't you a spontaneous person"
"Whatever." Eventually we made our way to the living room where Jordan and Carter were sitting smiling at a strange girl. I saw Madison in the girls hands and freaked out I then proceeded to swiftly take the baby back into my arms. I was absolutely bewildered. Why would they let random people in the house people were becoming lunatics lately because they had nothing left. This was no exception.
The girl looked about Jordan's age. She was blonde and had chocolate brown eyes. She looked like the popular girl in high school. The head cheerleader. She was pretty. Looks like we have another resident. She then proceeded to kiss Jordan which left me even more confused. How has everybody been finding this house! I coughed and Jordan and Carter looked up with a big smile on their faces.
"Um. Who is this?" I asked.
"Oh Macy meet my girlfriend Hannah we were boyfriend and girlfriend before the epidemic."
"Oh that explains a lot. "Honestly I was glad to have him off my back trying to comfort me. I know that's bad but I'm not going to lie to myself. Then Madison started to cry, and I left for the kitchen to feed her. Gabriel followed, and began to ask questions.
" So what have you lost?"
"Everyone but her."
"What happened?"
"The epidemic."
"How'd you get her?"
"My sister bagged for me to take care of her when she died." Now I was on the verge of tears so I took a deep breath to calm myself.
"How did everyone else die?"
"My parents died in a car crash when I was a baby my parents were only children so I didn't have aunts and uncles. My grandparents died of the epidemic. Then there was my sister's husband and he died of the epidemic soon after my sister found out she was pregnant. In his dying moments she told him about Madison. She said' please don't leave me and our unborn child'. The next moment he was dead," now I was crying hysterically but I went on," Why do the worst things happen to me! WHY can't I be normal!?!? Why is my life so messed up! What did I do to screw with karma or any of that B.S."
He eventually took Madison out of my arms and into her crib. Then he came to my shaking, crying body and carried me to my room. He stayed there comforting me all night or at least I think it was all night I had eventually cried myself to sleep.
That night was the only night since I was 4 that I didn't have any nightmares.
