Epidemic of Extinction

Chapter 7

   * Gabriel

   I woke up this morning with Macy asleep in my arms with a small smile on her face. She looked like she had had a happy dream. Jordan told me that she had nightmares every night, but she seems to be content. Now she was starting to stir. She woke up tired, but with a smile on her face. She looked up at me smileing down at her. Then she spoke.

   "Morning,"

   "Morning. How did you sleep?"

   "The best sleep I've had in 11 years."

   "Why so long?"

   "My parents died when I was 4 and the nightmares haven't stopped since. "She said matter-a-fact-ly.

   "Oh."

   For awhile after a while I kind of thought that Macy was a brat who was over exaggerating how hard her life was, but after last night she might as well be under exaggerating it. I mean she has a baby which isn't even hers and that's it. But every part of my being wants to be with her. To hug her, to comfort her, and to make her mine. I walked out to the kitchen where Hannah and Jordan were in a full out make out session. Wow. Ummmmm..... ahhhhh.... ummmm. What do I do now. I was planning on making some breakfast for Macy. She was taking care of Madison. I had taken care of her last night, because she was sleeping so soundly that I just couldn't wake her so I was dog tired. I then I heard Macy's  frustrated scream . I ran out of the room  where Jordan and Hannah were still making out. She was holding a crying baby but she was crying with her, frustrated.

   "What's wrong."

   "She won't shut up. She won't stop crying, and - and I don't know why!"

   "It's OK. Shhhhhhh. It's OK." Then I grabbed the balling baby fro,her unstable arms. I held the baby in 1 arm and Macy in the other. I had already soothed the baby to sleep and now I then set her in the crib and held Macy till she stopped. Then she asked me a question.

   "Why do you take care of me? I must be such a burden to you."

   "You are anything but. You hold me together don't say that."

   "No I'm just a burden nothing more. Why do you care about me. Nobody cares about me, especially not one of the senator's son. I'm-"

    I turned her around and kissed her. After that senator's son comment I had to shoe her how much I cared. She was very surprised by this action but as soon as she realized that I was actually kissing her she put her hand on the back of my neck and pulled me closer to her. We kissed desperately. As if our lives depended on it. Then we heard it.

   "Umm... are you guys going to eat breakfast instead of each other."

   We stopped and put our foreheads together and laughed. Carter always knows how to deal with an awkward moment.

   "So first I walk in on Jordan with his girlfriend, and they were doing more than kissing. Now you guys. You guys were kissing. Man, you guys are messed up."

   She just smiled and laughed, but I thought one thing. After that we headed to breakfast. Soon after. Jordan and Hannah joined us. Hannah had really messed up hair which told me Carter wasn't lying. Ew.After break fast we just sat in the living room talking. I just tuned out when Macy surprised me and cuddled into my arm. Wow. I love her so much, but I feel like I barely know her.
