Mays just moved in with you because she insisted on us being together while working on this, but you know she probably just wants to be near Loki. This thought had quickly left your mind though being that she was giving Loki devilish glares; which he ignored.
Mays now sleeps on your couch, Loki still uses the Guest Room which had once been your Ex's. and you still live in your own room, of course.
You walk by the living room as your shaken from your thoughts when you see Mays. Her papers and folders and diagrams all spread out across the ottoman.
"What the hell is this!?" you basically shout.
She looks up at you in confusion. "What?"
"Why are there papers everywhere?"
"Because, were studying and that's what studying is," she replied dryly.
You took a moment then grunted, "I suppose your right, but keep them in one are please?"
You walk away and manage to hear her mutter, "Who pissed in your coffee?"
You decide to ignore this comment and walk into the kitchen where Loki is sitting at the table with his arms crossed over his chest. He lifts an eyebrow as you walk in.
"Not. A. Word," You say dangerously as you pass him to go to heat up some water.
Loki looks amused as he watches you. Which was a look you'd thought you'd never see on the God Of Mischief.
Of course, Loki doesn't continue to listen as he asks, "I don't exactly see why you're doing this."
"Because, you are a fictional character, well, were," you say, turning to him with your back to the marble quartz counter top.
"Something wrong between you and Mays?"
You glare at him before saying, "No...."
"Your tone of voice changes when you lie, (Y/N)," he reminds you.
You continue to glare. "So? It's not like you don't lie."
"Point made, but then what's wrong?"
You seemed taken aback by this. Loki Laufeyson, asking you what's wrong?
"Nothing," you lie, and your voice slightly pitches.
He raised an eyebrow.
"Look, it's been a long week. First, I have you show up out of nowhere, then I have Mays almost dying because of you, then she's pissed off at you and me, only to 'move' in with us because she wants to help solve a damn case only because she's been one of your many fangirls for flipping years, next, I find that my damn bills just went up, and that I'm being called to work for a Night Shift - tonight - when me and Mays took off two weeks so we could figure this whole damn case out," you say angrily, finally getting off the steam you've been trying to get off the past few days.
You had gotten a letter yesterday telling you your bills went up, and then had gotten a call from work, which truly pissed you off because Gala, a co-worker with a shitty attitude took leave, so now you have to work tonight.
"Feel better?" he asks in that cheeky tone of his.
"Yes," you snap, then relax and take a breath, finally it's off your chest.
Damn him!
"I had no idea you were so angry at me," a voice says, slightly hushed.
You look to the archway to see Mays leaning against the wall, look at you with wide eyes.
"Well now you do know," you hiss, "And I'm glad you do! You should've believed me instead of telling me that I'm basically a lunatic that needs to get their damn head straight and being angry at me!"
Mays looks surprised for a moment then she too got angry. "Well, it's kind of hard to believe that a character from a movie exists or in fact just that you saw Tom Hiddleston when he's in London!!"
You snort as she goes on, crossing your arms over your chest.
"I'm trying to help with this damn mysterious case, alright! So it be nice if we could be friends again instead of being angry at each other!" she yells angrily. "The only reason we are angry at each other is because of him!" she points a finger at Loki without taking her eyes off of you.
He raises and eyebrow.
"Don't blame this on him!" you snarl as you step away from the counter as she too steps forward.
"Fine!" she shouts. "I'll blame it on you since you're the one who brought him here!"
You glare. "Me?"
"Yes, you!"
You can't believe this. You glance at Loki who's just watching the fight intently.
Was that a flicker of amusement in his gaze? Is he laughing? you think as you see him trying to control his grin.
"It's not my fault only I can see him!" you shout. "This is as much as a mystery to me as it is to you!"
Mays balled her hands into fists then after a moment she seemed to deflate with a sigh. "I know. I'm sorry (Y/N). I just almost died at his hands! So, I declare that I am still a fan, but not of Loki, but Tom Hiddleston."
You can't help it and you laugh, then she laughs too. You embrace and then she goes back to her files in the other room.
"Well that worked out, did it not?"
You look at Loki as you put a tea bag in your cup of steamy water. "Well, yeah. Unlike you, I'd rather not kill my best friend."
"What happened to being mad?"
You shrug. "Who says I couldn't get over it?"
Loki watches you and then he says, "You are a very interesting Midgardian."
You don't know whether to take this as a compliment or not. So you just say, "Err...thank you?"
Loki gets up and leaves without another word.
You stare at where he left for what feels like ten minutes. "Who the hell is that and where is Loki?" you murmur to yourself, picking up your cup of tea and sitting down.
Loki seemed so different, but then again, he hasn't started killing people yet. So, maybe he wasn't as evil as The Avengers made him out to be.
"At least he's not a crazy person that believes he can rule the whole human race...yet," you say to yourself as you take a sip of your tea.
There's a scream and you immediately drop your cup of tea and the cup shatters on the ground, tea splashing on your pants.
You look up to see someone in the archway to your kitchen.
You blink for a moment in disbelief. Standing under your archway is a man with a gun aimed at you, but instead of screaming or running you simply look down and say with a frown,
"Oh shit! There goes my morning cup of tea...."
