as soon as tobio got home, he went to his room, and slammed his head onto the wall.
"damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!" he yelled.
he even started to tear up a little, which he never thought he'd do. he would've never expected to cry over something like this.
he knew he shouldn't have been so stupid. ignoring hinata because he was jealous. jealous of whoever this person that the boy took a liking to.
it was such a petty reason, and his reasoning made his best friend- no, his only friend cry.
who was tobio gonna talk to at lunch? who was he gonna practice volleyball with? goddamn it who was he gonna turn to when the entire world didn't wanna talk to him?
not hinata. not anymore at least.
[the next day]
during practice, tobio wasn't really at the top of his game.
but neither was hinata.
the team seemed concerned, since they're usually always trying hard. even tsukishima was kind of concerned, but they all didn't question it.
the two kept screwing up their quick attack, but instead of trying to fix it, they just acted as if it was nothing. even though they had a big game coming up.
---later (after practice ended):
apparently takeda-sensei and coach ukai had an announcement for the volleyball team, so everyone sat down and listened.
"okay guys, since we have a big game in a few days, which is far away too, we're going to be staying in cheap motels, since our budget isn't too high. fortunately there are enough rooms for all of us that are affordable, but each one of you have to share with one other person. alright?" coach said as takeda sensei handed out permission slips.
everyone nodded. they were all assigned random partners, and everyone seemed to be happy with who they were assigned with.
but of course, tobio was assigned with the one and only, hinata.
it's not as if he hated hinata, he just knew it would be awkward since they had just had an argument, and had just stopped talking to each other.
hinata wasn't upset about being assigned with him, but he wasn't excited either. he didn't say anything.
and then everyone went home. hinata didn't even wait for tobio and walk home with him like usual. he had left earlier. which was understandable, since they weren't really best friends anymore.
it still made tobio upset though, even though he started this entire thing.
he sighed and walked home.
