chapter one

"SHIT SHIT SHIT"

was the first thing tobio said out loud after waking up and checking his alarm clock.

it was 12:00pm. school started at 8:00am.

not only was he super late, but he had just woken up.

in a span of 7 minutes; he put on his uniform, took the bento his mom made for him out of the fridge, grabbed his backpack, and ran out the door.

[timeskip to later idfk]

tobio arrived to class, late.

he handed the teacher a tardy slip and sat down at his desk, and waited until class was over.

[timeskip to lunchtime idfk]

"KAGEYAMAAAAAAAA"

tobio didn't even have to think twice about who was calling his name.

he turned around, to see hinata (of course), running towards him.

"want to have lunch together kageyama-kun?"

at this point hinata didn't even need to ask, they had lunch together all the time.

tobio nodded his head. "of course."

he followed hinata to the spot where they usually eat.

then someone got in the way.

"hinata-kun!"

oh god.

"oh hi suzuki-san!"

her name was suzuki, she was in the same year as the both of them. tobio didn't really hate her, but he knew he didn't like her.

the way she flirts with hinata is so obvious, yet he's so oblivious to it.

the way she twirls her hair..bats her eyes...gets super close to him. it sickens tobio for some reason. what annoys him even more is when she cheers hinata's name really loudly while watching the volleyball team during practice.

but why should he care anyways?

it isn't as if hinata belonged to him....if she loves him, he shouldn't get in the way. he'd just be a terrible friend. getting in the way of his love life.

plus he couldn't blame her, if he were a girl he'd probably be head over heels for that idiot.

wait what?

his thoughts were immediately brushed off when he saw suzuki flirting with hinata, like usual.

oh. and she's doing it right now.

the hair twirling, holding his hand, god damn it tobio just wanted to eat his lunch. not watch this girl flirt with hinata.

he watches as she strokes hinata's hair behind his ear and gets touchy..too touchy.

tobio couldn't take it. he couldn't stand watching for some unknown reason. he wanted to be the only one around hinata, all to himself. not around this girl. wait what? why would he think that? oh god-

and tobio turned around to go leave them alone.

hinata noticed. "kageyama where are you goi-"

but he didn't listen. nor reply. he just walked away.

his stomach felt sick having to watch that stupid girl flirt with him. it was only flirting, but it made him an indescribable type of feeling.

wait a minute.

he wasn't...jealous was he?

nonono that can't be. why would he care so much about a girl flirting with that dumbass?

he walked into a random bathroom stall and locked the door. he chose to eat in the bathroom today.

he leaned against the wall and started questioning what he was feeling. why was he so bothered by suzuki? it's not like she did anything to him. other than flirting with hinata nonstop.

the real question was,

why does he care so much about hinata?
