"episode eleven - be my girl"

RICK HAD BEEN IGNORING ME LIKE THE PLAGUE. Stolen glances of guilt here and there but for the main part he kept away, typically talking to Carmen in private. I don't even know what you would confused our relationship at the moment.

Taking a break? A pause? Or simply finished?

He had made no attempts to apologise for the sexist comments he had made or provided any way to mark up for it. I wasn't going to him first; I was too stubborn for that.

I've discovered how much I rely on him, but it seems as if he has gone. Walked away from me.

That's the problem, The more people you let into your life, the more that can just walk out. You begin to blame yourself because you feel as though you set yourself up for disappointment.

Carmen had come back from her date with this boy Neil and is instantly complaining about it. Sitting in a chair next to Rick, she opens her mouth "He just kept talking about guitar chords the whole time and then he did this random air guitar demonstration like a dork"

"Well he was probably trying to impress you" Rick tells her nudging her shoulder. I look down and play with my fork. Is he really going to move on and forget?

"I'm never going out with someone so boring again"

Rick passed her a jewellery magazine "Yours I believe"

"Oh thanks Rick" She smiles "Where did you find this?"

He shrugs his shoulders "Just about. Look not all boys are dorks. I'll take you shopping to prove it. I'll throw in a burger as well"

I feel as if I i've frozen. What the hell is going on?

"alright you're on" I hear Carmen agree and i almost feel the need to laugh. Laughing to cover the sound of my heart shattering beneath my chest. I feel Bailey lean closer to me to provide some form of comfort.

"Funny, I could have sworn Rick just asked you on a date" Faith laughs.

"Me and Rick? No way" Carmen reply's.

Rick doesn't reply.

Does no one actually notice i'm here? Feeling as if i'm dying because i've lost my favourite person.

If I had laughed the comments off, maybe everything would be okay. It's my fault, i shouldn't have taken such offence and then maybe Rick would be taking me out on a date.

The next day comes around too quickly. Rick grabs his savings jar and smashes it to obtain his money for the trip. They leave without a thought spared. And here I am left, Madeline, the care kid and the second choice.
