In the classroom
Normal POV
Izuku brings Sophia into the classroom. After a quick look over of the classroom, Sophia speaks up.
"Where’s the teacher?" The only thing she could see in the classroom other than desks was a giant yellow caterpillar. To her surprise Izuku points to the caterpillar.
“He’s right there.” Then the caterpillar began to shed its skin, revealing a tired looking man with messy black hair. He stands up and dusts off his pants.
"Ahhh! It's a yellow bean!” Mandy screams, obviously startled by the molting caterpillar.
"I'm Mr. Aizawa. Midoriya tells me you have a unique quirk. I will be determining if it’s good enough for class 1-A. Do you care to demonstrate your quirk for the class? " As the insomniac says this, students start to file into the classroom and take their seats.
The entire class settled down, including Izuku. Mr. Aizawa told Sophia to wait in front of the classroom until the full class was present. Just before the last bell rang the final student ran into the room and hopped into his desk.
“I’m not late!” His voice was heard above the other chatter in the room.
He had calming golden eyes about the same color as his hair, which had a black lightning bolt in it.
That’s when Sophia noticed Mandy drooling in the back of the classroom. Cartoon hearts appear in her eyes and she floated (is floated a word?) herself over to the human deep fryer.
Sophia started laughing hysterically, but quickly stopped as she realized she was still in front of the class… it went silent.
After a few awkward seconds passed, the insomniac teacher spoke up.
“Excuse me class.” The class continued chatting.
“I’m too tired for this.” Then out of nowhere, Aizawa started laughing hysterically. He faced Sophia, and made it seem like they were having a conversation.
“It’s actually kind of a funny story. I’ve only dated one person. My grandpa and I were together for three years.”
Now he’d caught the attention of the class. He waited for dramatic effect.
“He will forever be my favorite ex. Rest in peace papa G.” He souluted the ceiling.
The entire class went silent. All of them staring at their insomniac of a teacher for an explanation.
“There, now that I have your attention. We have new student today.” He turned to Sophia and gestured for her to introduce herself.
“Ur-um I’m, my name is water and I control Sophi- er… That’s not what I meant! I’m not water!” Her face flushed.
“My name is Sophia and I can manipulate water.” She tightens her hands into fists. “I can turn water into any form, like ice, water, steam, and other water related things. I can also control the shape and temperature of water, along with any weather that includes water.”
The class stays silent. Some of them look impressed, while some were still trying to get over her introduction.
Of course she couldn’t reveal her true quirk. No one would believe her.
Sophia looks into the crowd. Mandy is sitting on the lighting bolt dude’s desk, and staring at him within inches of his face. Grace is next to her trying to pull her away.
Izuku grins and gives Sophia a thumbs up. The reminder that her friends are there gives her a boost in confidence. She smiles and bows to the class.
“Could you give us an example of your quirk?” Mr. Aizawa asks. Sophia almost forgot she had to show the class her quirk.
She looks at Mandy, but she is too distracted by the boy. So she tries to stall.
“Is there anything in particular you want to see? Or should I give a few examples?”
Grace slaps Mandy across the face and points to me. Almost like Mandy was knocked out of a trace she nods and transports her power to Sophia.
After that, she points to the boy she was drooling over and puts up ten fingers. This was Mandy talk for 10/10. Her perfect man.
“I would like to see how you control the temperature of your water, as well as its form.” Mr. Aizawa answers.
Sophia nods and forms two puddles, one in each hand. After a few seconds one puddle turns to ice and the other starts to boil. There are a few oo’s and ah’s from the class. Then she moves the ice into the air and places it onto the hand with the boiling water. Steam fills the room, practically making it into a sauna. A few kids cough and wave at the air around them.
After the air clears, Mr. Aizawa speaks.
“You pass. Welcome to class 1-A you can take your seat over there.” He points to a seat next to Izuku.
There is another empty seat in front of hers, and a kid with tape for elbows behind.
“Izuku can show you to your room after class. Because Koda was a boy, you will be staying in the boys dormitory. Now I’m going back to sleep. This will be a free class. So get to know the rest of your classmates.”
Sophia’s POV
After Mr. Aizawa told me I would be staying in the boy’s dormitory, my heart sank. That was scary. Men are scary. Especially the little boy in the back of the class with weird grapes on his head. He was smirking and laughing creepily. How did he even make it into this class? He looks like he’s 6. Pervy 6 year olds are the worst.
I take my seat next to Izuku. He whispers “Good job!” I whisper back “Thanks!”
Mandy finally pulls herself away from her ‘perfect man’. I can’t help but pity her. She finally finds him but he can’t even see her.
“You totally introduce yourself as water to the entire class.” She wheezes.
“It wasn’t that bad Sophia. I’m sure no one even noticed.” Grace tried to reassure me and then scowled at Mandy.
I made sure to talk only loud enough for Grace and Mandy to hear.
“At least my name is not miss fishy.” I couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit. I know Mandy hates that nickname. In that moment, rage clouded Mandy’s mind and she forgot about the power I hold over her. She tried to attack me but fell right through me.
This made me go into another laughing fit. Causing me to earn more concerned looks from the rest of the class, and making me lose concentration and release her.
She hit the desk in front of me, moving it several inches. Once again the class goes silent.
I hid my face in my arms on top of my desk. My face flushed and Mandy was rolling around on the ground laughing. I curse at her under my breath. Grace was trying to get Mandy to calm down. She was definitely the mom in our odd little family.
"Who woke me up." The yellow bean emitted a dark aura. "Who. Woke. Me. Up."
No one wanted to throw the new girl under the bus so instead we all stayed quiet. Soon he went back to sleep.
Luckily everyone ignored the fact that a desk randomly moved.
