Chapter Fifteen

Tears streamed down her face and she ran to Sophia. She burst into Sophia’s room and started hyperventilating.

Sophia jumped up and ran over to her. 

“Mandy calm down! What’s wrong?” Sophia is panicking as well now.

Unable to form words, Mandy grabs the sleeve of Sophia’s sweatshirt and pulls her down the hall.

This caused a few of the other dormates to poke their heads out at the sudden commotion. 

“What’s going on?” Bakugou looks angry and like he just got out of bed.

It was a strange sight to say the least. Sophia being dragged down the hall by her invisible spirit. 

“I don’t know! Mandy just went crazy!” She shouted in return.

Bakugou and Kirishima came out of their rooms and ran after Sophia.

When they got to the room Bakugou and Kirishima both screamed.

“Denki! No! No! This can’t be happening! No! No! NO!” Bakugo cupped Denki’s lifeless body in his arms.

The spoon fell out of his hand and hit the wood floor. Mandy was besides Sophia silently sobbing. Kirishima knelt over Bakugou and Denki, shock written all over his face.

“Is he…” Kirishima couldn’t force himself to say the words. So instead he looked over at Sophia. Sophia bit her lip trying to hold back the tears, and nodded. Kirishima let out a heart wrenching cry. 

“H-how?” Bakugou stutters. He watched Sophia look over his shoulder. She was about to say something but he cut her off. “Is he behind me?”

Sophia shut her mouth and nodded. Bakugou turns around and stares at the empty space.

“H-hey Denks… please don’t leave. I-I.” He clears his throat, and a single tear falls from his eye. “Just stay by Sophia and Mandy. Promise me… okay.”

There were a few seconds where all that could be heard were Kirishima and Mandy’s sniffles and sobs.

Suddenly Mineta randomly comes running into the room and yells. “The sacrifice was made for the consumption of the butterfly!” Then runs out of the room, and away from the tragic scene.

No one seemed to notice. They were all too focused on Denki.

Sophia’s POV

    While Bakugou and Kirishima mourned over their new loss, I scouted the room looking for his spirit.

If I could get to him in time I could link his spirit. He slowly faded in behind Bakugou. I looked up at him. He was crying and apologising non-stop to his best friends.

A little while later, his gaze changed from Bakugou to me and to Mandy. 

    Mandy had her hand over her mouth while trails of tears fell from her face onto the floor. Denki spoke up.

“S-sophia can you see me?” I nod. “Can she see me?” I shake my head no. 

“I need to link your spirit to me first. Are you okay with that?” I ask, this time receiving a nod from Denki.

I link his spirit and touch Mandy on the head.

“Hey Mandy.” She doesn’t reply. “He’s still here.” This made Mandy’s crying stop. She lifted her head to see Denki running up to her. He wrapped her in his arms and cried.

“I-I don’t know what to do. I-I d-don’t know what to do…” He wailed.

This was the first time they had ever hugged. It looked so natural. They were perfect for eachother. No matter how messed up the situation was, the universe wanted these two to be together. Even if it meant being electrocuted by your own quirk because of expired milk and a spoon.
