The sun shone through the window on the early Thursday morning, waking Layla Downey up from her slumber. She groaned quietly, lifting herself up. She ended up falling asleep on the couch. As she looked around, her eyes spotted Elizabeth, Chris, and Anthony who were all at her dining room table, drinking cups of coffee and whispering to one another. "Did he come home last night?" She mumbled, startling the three. They looked at each other. "No, I'm sorry, Lay." Elizabeth moved over to the couch, sitting next to the girl.

Layla sat up, picking her phone up. "He hasn't sent me a message since that one last night either." She sighed, standing up quickly. "I forgot I've got to go to Mom and Dad's." Layla put her shoes on looking at her three friends. "I'm sorry, I have to go babysit for them. Dad's going out of town for something and Mom's going with him." She ran out of her apartment and got into her car, driving to her parent's house.

Once she arrived, she walked in. "Mom? Dad?" Susan walked to where Layla was and smiled. "Oh, Layla!" She hugged her tightly. "Hi, mama." The two Downey girls walked into the kitchen where Robert stood with Tom Holland, Hiddleston, and Chris Hemsworth. "My H boys!" She smiled widely, wrapping her arms around everyone individually. "Hi, dad." She looked over and saw a sympathetic look lingering upon his face. "Don't." She spoke. "I don't need this sympathetic look, especially from you. I know what's going on, I mean, he hasn't responded to me since he lied but," She shrugged. "What are you gonna do about it?" She spoke sarcastically.

"Have you heard from him, love?" Susan asked, looking at her oldest child. Layla shook her head. "Nope." The six of them continued to talk until screams erupted. "Lay-Lay!" A voice squealed. "Exton! Avri! Get over here." She smiled taking her younger siblings in her arms. "Goodness, I missed you!" "C'mon! Come see what Mom got us!" Her siblings pulled her away and into the living room where they were playing a video game. "Woah!" She smiled.

A few hours later, Exton, Avri, and Layla Downey all finished playing a few rounds of Mario Kart, when Layla got up. "Alright, kiddos, I've got to go home now." She said her goodbyes to everyone in the house and drove back to her apartment. When she arrived, she saw Sebastian sitting on the couch. The sound of the door closing caught his attention making him look up at her. "There you are!" He smiled widely. Sebastian walked up to her, kissing her softly. Layla didn't kiss him back which made him look at her in confusion. "What's wrong?" He cupped her cheek.

"Stop it, Sebastian." She mumbled. She looked at him once more, tears filling her eyes as she huffed. "I know what you did. I'm not an idiot." He looked at her confused. "I know you were with Eloise yesterday." She mumbled.

"I really just don't get it." She whispered. "Why am I not good enough for you?" She choked out, tears brimming her eyes quickly. "I've tried being there, and being good enough, Sebastian, but I guess all you wanted was her, huh? These six months weren't good enough?" Sebastian tried grabbing her but she moved away before he could.

"Get out." Sebastian looked at her in shock. "What?" "D-Don't make it harder than it has to be. Get out, Sebastian. I mean it." She mumbled, her voice seconds away from trembling and breaking. He nodded, grabbing her hand for a second before letting go. Sebastian walked to the door and closed it behind him.

As soon as he left, a strangled sob left the girl's lips as she threw the flowers that were on the counter onto the wood floors. "God!" She screamed, dropping to the floor. Layla hugged her knees to her chest. Her phone rang a few times but she never picked up, letting the sound of her phone drone on in the background of her ears ringing. She continued to sob, burying her face against her legs.

For what only seemed like minutes, an hour had gone by, and her phone rang many more times -- each time being ignored by the girl who was still sat on the wood floors of her apartment. A few moments later, keys jingled and the door opened slowly. "Layla?" A voice that she recognized to be Chris Evans as well as Elizabeth Olsen called out to her. She didn't respond and didn't move an inch from where she was sat. "We've tried calling you. Are you alright?" They walked in, immediately spotting the girl on the floor and their hearts had stopped in their chests. "Oh, sweetheart," Chris mumbled.

She let out more sobs as she hid her face against his chest. "I hate him! I hate him! I hate him!" She mumbled repeatedly as Chris stroked her hair and Elizabeth rubbed her back. "He's not worth your time, love," Elizabeth spoke. "C'mon, let's get you up, hon." Chris stood, picking the girl up bridal style and carrying her onto the couch. "I'm scared, Chris. I'm scared I'll spiral again and lose you and Lizzie." Liz looked at her softly. "We're not going anywhere, sweet girl. We promise you. We're going to help you, alright?" Chris kissed her hair and mumbled. "Everything will be okay, angel. We're not going to let you go through this alone."

The three sat there in silence, except for a sniffle from Layla every few minutes. "I think I'm going to go to bed." She spoke, giving the two a blank look before getting up and bee-lining it to her bedroom. Chris and Elizabeth sighed. "I really want to kill him," Chris spoke, looking at Elizabeth. "I know, but how is that going to help? The girl is heartbroken, Chris. We know how much she loves him and he betrayed her. I know you're trying to help, but punching his face in won't do any good for that girl in there." She paused. "That girl needs us, Chris."

Chris nodded. "I know, I know. I just... I shouldn't have let her go back to him. I knew it wouldn't do her good!" Elizabeth sighed. "But you did it because you loved her. You had to let her go, and let her figure this out herself. Maybe they weren't meant to be, I don't know!" She waved her arms around. "But what I do know is that you love that girl more than anything, everyone can see it, and if you really want what's best for her, you'd be there for her and not worry about Sebastian."

Chris nodded, looking down at his phone that was blowing up with messages from their shared friends, who were sending messages of worry, love, and support. Elizabeth looked at him once more. "You let him destroy this relationship if that's what he wants to do because when and if he does, you and I will be here to pick up the pieces and make sure she doesn't break again."

A few hours later, the two were sat on the couch, texting their friends and filling them in on everything while being as vague as possible. A door opened slowly and out emerged Layla who's brown locks were tangled, her eyes and nose red from her crying. "Chris?" The man looked up, catching her eyes. "Yes, sweetheart?" His facial expression softened as he studied her. "Will you come to lay with me? I-I can't sleep." She mumbled.

Chris was quick to his feet as he nodded, following the girl. She quickly sat on her bed, getting under the blankets and laying her head on her pillow. Chris sat next to her and as soon as he did, she moved, wrapping her arms around him and laying her head on his chest. "Thank you, bub." She mumbled. "Of course, angel. Anything for my best girl."
