:8: I've Missed You
Maya's POV
The next day.
Josh pulled out the front of my house. The drive here had been torture. I'd thought it was bad when Josh and Lucas were arguing, but when everyone sat in silence it took all of my strength to not burst out in tears.
I had hardly slept at all last night. Every time I closed my eyes I had nightmares where Riley died and I did nothing, only to wake up and find out that was reality as well.
I got out of the car and walked up to the front door. Before I could open it, it was thrown open from the inside and Mom came barrelling out. She swept me up in a bone-crushing hug.
"Maya," she sobbed, mascara running down her face. "I've missed you so much."
It was then that the tears came.
Mom lead me inside and I lay down on the couch. I curled up in a ball and cried until I fell asleep.
---
I woke up the next morning in my own bed. Mom must have carried me up there. Good thing I don't weigh much, I guess.
I walked downstairs and sat across from Mom at the table. She looked up at me and smiled, tears in her eyes.
"I've missed you," she whispered.
"I've missed you too," I told her.

So, this book will be over very soon. I'm kinda sad about that, because there'll be no sequel this time.
And my next fanfic will be a Joshaya one! I've already got chapter one written up. If you want, I can post it now, but the other chapters won't come until this book is finished.
Question time!
Do you hate me for killing off Riley?
Xoxo, stay fabulous!
