*Two Months Later*

Dearest Betty,

How I miss you! Although you've only been gone for two days I feel very alone. I can't wait for your return in two weeks. How is Huntsville? Are you enjoying yourself and catching up with friends? What about your grandmother? I hope she is in good health. I keep you in my thoughts, my prayers and my heart during this Thanksgiving season.

With Love and Warmest Wishes

Judith

Dearest Judith,

You must know the obvious truth that I miss you as well! Even surrounded by family I feel alone. Huntsville is...Huntsville. Small, boring and awfully quiet. I got so used to the sound and life of New York City. I am moderately enjoying myself. I never really had friends here so I'm just spending time with my grandmother who, thankfully, is in good health. You too occupy my every thought. Your love warms my heart during this chilly season and your letters cause a smile to grow upon my face.

Love and Kisses

Your Betty

Dear Beautiful Betty,

I am happy to hear that your grandmother is in good health and that you are moderately enjoying yourself. It snowed yesterday! But sadly melted today due to warm temperatures and rain. Mother has caught a terrible cold and is put on bed rest and given this horrid smelling liquid. It is quite awful. It is now my job to cook, clean, and take care of mother. Father seems to be even busier than before. I'm afraid we won't be celebrating Thanksgiving this year due to mothers illness and fathers absence. I hope your Thanksgiving is much better than mine.

Kisses and Hugs

Your (busy, frustrated, tired, and loving) Judith

Dearest Judith,

It snowed here as well but sadly it stuck. I prefer warmth to chill. I'm so sorry to hear about your mothers illness and your fathers absence. I pray that her health improves and that you stay healthy as well. I'm sorry to hear about your Thanksgiving and I hope that my busy, frustrated, tired and loving Judith stays strong and happy.

Love

Your Betty

Dearest Betty,

I am writing this letter from my bed at one-oh-five pm. Sadly your wishes for good health got here a bit too late. I have chills, a runny nose, a headache, and many other symptoms that are not appropriate to talk about. (aka period, and diarrhea) I've been put on bedrest and forced to take that horrid liquid my mother took. At least she's better! How was your Thanksgiving dear? I'm quite positive it was better than mine.

Love

Your sick Judith

Judith,

Oh how I have prayed that you too didn't catch that awful cold! My prayers and wishes for a quick recovery. I too am on my period and I have crippling cramps. Thanksgiving dinner was warm and delicious. Mother and grandmother sure know how to cook. Hopefully when I return in two days time you will be all healed and we could go out as "friends".

See you soon!

Betty
