This is the interview of the beautiful SueLou66 who is the winner of the Romance genre in the Candy Cane Awards!

Zareen: First and foremost, Congratulations! How do you feel about being a winner in Candy Cane awards?

Sue: This was my first time getting a first place, so it is very special to me and encourages me to keep writing.

Zareen: That's lovely! Tell us something about your book.

Sue: My book, Every Little Thing, is about lost love and new beginnings. The MC loses her firefighter fiancé in a fire. It follows the desperation she goes through and the help of family and friends to get though her suffering. She meets a man through work. She is not ready for love, but he is willing to wait. His patience pays off.

Zareen: It's a strong plot! When and how did you start writing?

Sue: I started writing over two years ago. I was on a different app at the time and saw they were having a writing contest. I decided to enter it and wrote High School Sweethearts, which is loosely based on my husband's and my love story.

Zareen: Aww... This is amazing! Do you want to be a professional author?

Sue: Writing is a hobby. I am not looking to be professional.

Zareen: Are you writing under a penname?

Sue: I do write under a pen name. There are some crazy guys out there who message me constantly. However, Sue is my real name and Lou is the first three letters of my middle name, so it still feels like me.

Zareen: Who are your favorite authors? That's both in and out of Wattpad.

Sue: My most favorite authors are Talita Lawrence and Mary Higgins Clark. SMWagoner is another favorite. I love her writing style. I also enjoy Kyxcooffe and J.L. Vanders' stories.

Zareen: Did they inspire you?

Sue: Mary Higgins Clark is the reason I like writing in the crime genre. Talita Lawrence inspired me to become a better writer and supported me by recommending my stories in her books.

Zareen: What do you think is the best thing about Wattpad?

Sue: As I said, I did start writing on a different app, but there were so many restrictions and glitches. I absolutely love Wattpad's platforms for the freedom that they give authors to express ourselves.

Zareen: Agreed! What is the one thing you look for when buyingabout to read a book?

Sue: If the spelling and grammar are lacking, I cannot read the story no matter how good the plot might be. I understand mistakes, and I am sure that I have them in my own stories. When there is an abundance of errors, I struggle to get through it. Of course, the plot and characters impact whether I read or pass on a book.

Zareen: Is there a particular genre you love to read/write?

Sue: Even though I write mostly crime stories with a touch of romance, I am a sucker for romance and happy endings.

Zareen: Tell us one thing that readers do that make you smile.

Sue: Comments... Positive/Negative does not matter. I just want to get a reaction to my stories.

Zareen: What things do you like to do in your leisure time? (Besides writing, of course!)

Sue: I golf, read like crazy, long walks with my hubby, and spending time with family and friends.

Zareen: What is the one thing you love the most in life?

Sue: Definitely family. They are my life!

Zareen: Any message you want to give to other aspiring authors?

Sue: Write for yourself. If you base your writing worth on number of readers and comments, you can quickly get discouraged. Writing is about expressing yourself through your stories. Never lose sight of that. Popularity comes and goes.

Zareen: Sadly, we got to the end. Thanks for your time and let me assure you that this is just one of the many wins for your book. Good Luck with all of your works!

Sue: Thank you!

Zareen: You're welcome, Sue.
