The Element called Anemo

Eventually the both of us found ourselves at a low cliff overlooking the view of Mondstadt and Starfell Lake. I noticed a curious statue in the lake, depicting a hooded woman with wings holding a sphere in her hands. Maybe it was relevant to my quest for my brother, who knows.

"That's a Statue of the Seven! There are a few statues scattered across the land to show The Seven's protection over the world." Paimon pointed out.

"Among the seven gods, this god controls the wind. Paimon's not sure whether the god you're looking for is the Anemo god, but..."

'Anemo, was it? The name of the element feels suitable for the wind, nice.' "Paimon'll take you to the Anemo god's place first, and there's a reason why~" Paimon said playfully.

I walked down the path leading to the Anemo statue behind Paimon. Paimon herself was talking about how  'Poetry and language flow like the wind, so I think someone with definitely know about your brother' or something like that. I wasn't listening that much because I was picking berries while trying to catch up to Paimon simultaneously, and it was honestly a little hard to do that.

Once we both arrived at the statue's location (a island in the middle of a notably small lake), something told me to interact with it. I gazed at the winged lady (whom I now noticed was holding a sphere in her hands) before approaching it, placing my hand on the dimmed gold decoration near the middle of the statue.

The decoration glowed bright cyan.

Certain parts of the statue also began to glow the same color before it was engulfed completely into the same color for a second. Soon after, the sphere that the statue was holding also was glowing the aqua color, but something was different. It seemed to be pulling in nearby fresh air before a bright cyan orb with the anemo mark flew from the sphere and into me.

Literally.

I was surrounded by a aqua glow, swirling around me before disappearing.

Then something really weird happened. I suddenly had knowledge to the location of a nearby city and all other nearby areas. Maybe this could come in handy later.

"Ooh! Did you just feel the elements of this world? Seems all you had to do was touch the statue and you got the power of Anemo!" Paimon stated happily.

"As much as they may want it, people can never get ahold of powers as easily as you..." Paimon trailed off.

'This sounds like a bad sign..." I said, thinking about all the envious people that'd do anything to get visions. 'Do people in this world make fake visions, like counterfeit money?' I thought. From the time I'm writing this, the thought seems eerily familiar to a certain Sneznaeyan-originated organization...

"It's a bit rude to say that about the gods just gave you!" Paimon complained, effectively snapping me out of my thoughts.

Dropping the current topic, she moved on to the next task at hand. "If we keep heading west from here, we'll reach Mondstadt, the City of Freedom." She gestured over to the said city in the distance. I could sort of see a city with stone walls and windmills.

"Mondstadt is the city of wind, because they worship the God of Anemo. So perhaps, since you got power from the God of Anemo, you can find some clues there." She explained smartly.

"There are also lots of bards there, so perhaps one of them has heard news of your brother." Paimon added. "Lets move then! The elements in this world responded to your prayers and Paimon thinks that's a lovely sign." She finished. Before we could go, a Pyro slime appeared and I managed to blow it away with my newfound Anemo power. I then followed Paimon out of Starfell Lake, not noticing a large shadow that would soon pass over us.

WOOOO SECOND CHAPTER DONE! Thanks for reading! :D
