A complicated thing, love. A heart wrenching, eye draining, soul-crushing thing. Not everyone experiences the fairy tale kind of love, but the manipulative, painful, heartbreaking kind. Y/n sadly gets the second one. Y/n Y/l/n and Draco Malfoy, Hogwarts' power couple. The Slytherin sweetheart and her prince. That's what everyone else sees. That's what Draco wants them to see. No one knows the cruelty of your relationship except for the two involved. Draco is a cheater, abuser, and manipulator. Y/n is loyal, loving, and a hopeless romantic who believes that people can change.
Another night goes by where Draco doesn't come back to her room 'till 3 am. Another night goes by where Draco cheats on Y/n, and Y/n knows. Y/n knows because Draco tells her. He tells her what they did and how amazing it was. He tells her where they did what they did. He tells her everything like she's his best friend and not his girlfriend, like she's not the one who loves him with all her existence. He then proceeds to kiss Y/n goodnight and act like the perfect couple they used to be while Y/n lies there thinking that she should tell that girl thank you. Thank you for keeping him happy because I seem to be incapable of doing so.
The sun has risen and Y/n wakes up to see the rays of sun shining down on the gorgeous man whom she loves. The gorgeous man who Y/n is sure loves her too. She kisses him on the forehead and rubs his shoulders to wake up her lover just as he has asked her to. Draco's eyes slowly open, like a dragon opening its wings, but then they close as if the sight before him is hideous. As if she is not worthy of being in front of him. Y/n has done her part and now gets ready herself. She slides on her stockings and her skirt before putting on her collared shirt and vest. She applies her makeup which consists of mascara, Draco's favorite shade of lip gloss, and a tad bit of blush because Draco says she needs more color on her face. She walks into the bathroom to check that she looks okay. All her bruises are covered. Perfect. When Y/n gets a bad grade or talks to another guy, Draco beats her. Not with a spell or a whip but with his bare hands.
