Her nightmares were getting worse, but she'd feel so selfish if she told anyone. Cho-Hee needed a̶n̶d̶ d̶e̶s̶e̶r̶v̶e̶d̶ help more than she did right now. So she put her own struggles on the back burner. She could handle it.

(Y/N) stared down at her phone for a few moments. As much as she would love to, she didn't want to be away from Cho-Hee. She knew how fragile her state was, so she had to decline.

She smiled down at her phone, before she turned it off, and stuffed it into her pocket. She stood up from her seat on the couch, and walked to the kitchen, where she saw Cho-Hee sitting in front of the counter, sipping on a smoothie.
"Hey, how are you?" Cho-Hee asked.
(Y/N) smiled. It was good to see her starting conversations again. For the first couple of days after it happened, she hadn't spoken much, if at all. (Y/N) knew that healing was a long, complicated process, but it was good to see Cho-Hee taking the first steps.
"I'm pretty good," she answered. "I'm just about to start dinner."
"Do you want help?"
"Yeah!" (Y/N) said. "That sounds really good."
Cho-Hee pulled her long, black hair into a ponytail, using the hair tie she permanently kept on her wrist. "So what are we making?" she asked, hopping off the bar stool and stepped around the counter.
"Stir fry," (Y/N) answered, as she gathered all the ingredients.
"Sounds good." Cho-Hee smiled.

Daniel sat on the couch, mindlessly flipping through the channels on his TV. His effort to find something to watch was halfhearted, his mind a million miles away.
His thoughts kept coming back to (Y/N). The more he learned about her, the more he wanted to know. What was her childhood like? He hoped it was good. What was her favorite memory? He bet it was a great story. What was her biggest accomplishment? He could almost see the smile on her face, as she told him about it. What were her little habits and quirks? He was sure each and every one of them was adorable.
Daniel finally settled on some random movie channel, but even as he stared at the screen, he wasn't processing any of it.
He pulled out his phone, and checked for any messages from the girl he was so fixated on. But there were none.
Barely a minute passed, before he checked again. And again. And again.
Finally, after about the tenth time he checked, he tossed his phone on the sofa, and sighed, running a hand through his wavy, black hair.
'What are you doing to me, (Y/N)?'
He got up from the couch, grabbing his phone, wallet, and a jacket. 'I need a drink...'
Luckily for him, there was a bar within walking distance, so he didn't have to risk driving home drunk.
When Daniel walked into the bar, it was pretty packed. People were dancing, drinking, and talking and laughing over the music. He made his way through the crowd, until he made it to the bar at the back of the building. He sat at one of the stools. "Can I get a gin and tonic?"
The bartender nodded, and went to work making the drink. In almost record time, he gave Daniel his drink. It seemed that, no matter how cramped and crowded the bar was, he always got his drink fast. It was why this place continued to be his favorite.
Daniel mindlessly glanced around the room, sipping on his drink. He wasn't really paying attention - until he noticed a woman swiping some guy's wallet.
He grinned. 'Now this will be a nice distraction...'

(Y/N) sat around the small dining room table with Eliza and Cho-Hee, eating the stir fry they prepared together. It was warm, and when combined with a side of cho mein, it was tasty and filling.
"This is really good!" Eliza commented happily in between big mouthfuls. "You're gonna have to teach me how to make it!"
"Oh, yeah, like we'd let you use the stove," Cho-Hee joked. There was a small grin on her face - one that made (Y/N) smile, too. It was good to see her friend acting like her old self again. She knew Cho-Hee'd never be completely the same ever again, but she hoped that she'd see her get back that light in her eyes.
Eliza pouted. "Babe, you're so mean to me!" But her dark, brown eyes held joy.
(Y/N) laughed, and for the moment, everything felt perfect.
