The sun rose on the outskirts of Konohagakure, the blonde sunshine of the leaf rose from his well earned slumber with an empty feeling deep in his heart. A crater that was open like a gaping wound refusing to heal. He, of course, knew the reason why. Cerulean blue eyes were rubbed sleepily as a yawn escaped wondering why now of all times did he feel even more restless. There was of course one reason for this. Two words that summed up his frustration and unease for the past three years: Uchiha Sasuke.

It irritated the blonde that the raven refuse to see the bright side and finally come back home to everyone. To Sakura. To him. Why couldnt he understand? More importantly it hurt Naruto to see his comrade drunk in the ludicrous idea of revenge by joining the very power hungry maniac that killed amd used innocents like toys. To see those onyx black eyes tainted with raw anger and hate churning in its black vortex. His face painted an emotionless expression, a look he hates. The clothes Sasuke had worn himself distressed him as he saw it as more verification that he was under that creepy snake Sanin.

He sighed deeply and woke up stretching himself. Might as well take a stroll in the village. He wore his usual orange pants and black and stripped jacket with his zipper halfway open exposing his fishnet shirt and diamond necklace given to him by Tsunade, as he thought of going to the training ground abit. Walking along the streets he gazes at villagers going about their everyday business with smiles on their faces as they strolled past him, families with their children smiling and laughing. Naruto smiled at the scenery before him. Every where he went now he was greeted with warm grateful smiles, they acknowledged him. He was no longer a monster.

"Morning Naruto!"

"How you doing bud?"

"Hello Naruto! How was your morning?"

"You're our hero Naruto-kun!"

"We are all in debt to you Naruto-kun,"

He smiled and waved at them as they showered him with gratitude. This didn't stop him from wanting to become hokage of course, it was his dream. His mind wandered off to Sasuke. How must he be doing? Was he cold? Is he doing well? How strong must be be? Is he sick? So many questions spiralling around in his mind ma,img him grow worried. He calmed himself though reminding himself that Sasuke was fully capable of looking after himself.

He often question his own motive sometimes as his self promise was constantly questioned. The answer seemed simple enough. He was his friend. . . Or was he? Naruto knew his feelings maybe be far beyond the lines of friendship towards the raven. But why did he stop there?

What are you doing right now Sasuke? Are you safe? Do you think of me too?  He thought starring up the summer skies as he recalled his encounter with Sasuke. How his heart beat so fast and every light touch made his skin tingle as if they were meant to connect. Was it just him? He always wondered what made Sasuke hesitate sometimes. Does he feel the same way too? He knew what the raven was going through, the anger and bitterness coursing through him making him believe in any means possible to achieve his goal. His pride and anger were his weakness making him gullible. It hurt Naruto to see him like that. He knew that deep down Sasuke still cared. He was still the old teme he adored and fought with only so lost and broken and consumed with revenge and hatred. He sighed and continued walking towards the training ground to the woods feeling the gentle breeze embrace him as he passed.

                                                * * * * * * * *

Sasuke Uchiha stood near the pouring waterfall at the mouth of a cave that was one of the many openings of the passage ways that catacombs the area of Orochimaru's hideout. He felt more irritated than usual as he held his head under the pouring waters of the waterfall trying to clear his head. Why you may ask? It was all because of one single person that he cannot seem to let go : Uzumaki Naruto. Every time he cant seem to get rid of him as the blond haired beauty seemed to invade into his mind and have found a way to work into his heart. He remembered when they encountered after three years of being apart as he trained under Orochimaru. He seemed to have grown more mature yet beautiful.

His cerulean blue eyes that sparkled in the light in a beautiful blue which would put the sky to shame, his whisker marked cheeks still slightly plum making him look as adorable as ever, sunkissed skin that glowed in the sun making his golden locks shine bright, toned slightly curvy figure and soft looking pink plump lips slightly apart as he had gazed at him in life shock. He felt his heart leapt his throat as he saw his former rival and friend looking even more attractive yet had that childish innocence in him.

Sasuke shook his head feeling angrier at himself for feeling so weak, for feeling,ing such pathetic emotions. He, an Uchiha having a weakness? Unacceptable. Yes the blonde knuckle headed ninja was his weakness which he hid very carefully. He remembered their parting when they were younger at the End Valley, when he gazed at his face which so innocent and peaceful. He had a strange urge to keep him like that forever, he couldnt stop staring at him memorizing each detail before he left. He knew the pain of the blonde's past and he looked so innocent he didn't have the heart to kill him but instead spare him. He wanted to spare Naruto of the pain, save him from himself for he didn't deserve him, he isn't need more pain. Moreover he needed to accomplish his goal - kill Itachi.

Yet again the azure eyed ninja invaded his mind as he stared at the flowing water and the suns rays reflecting on it. It remined him of Naruto's eyes and hair. His eyes were like swirling pools of blue that seem to draw him in like a vortex that seem to hypnotise him, his hair shone like the sun itself as he emitted such a warm positive aura. These were his favourite features of his blonde including the whiskers Mark's on his cheeks that seemed to be made for guiding his fingertips across.

Wait his blonde? He sighed in frustration. What is wrong with me? That idiot keeps haunting my mind like a plague. I should have killed him. But . . . Why cant I? What is this feeling?  He thought to himself as chakra flowed into his hand as he performed his new justsu. Lightning crackled all around travelling though the water illuminating the area with a blinding white light as the lightning hummed and buzzed like the cry of a thousand birds. Maybe one day he would get the answer to his questions. Till then he cant be side tracked. He must accomplish his mission. Till then he must avoid Naruto, at all costs.
