After Alex and Emery got dressed, they all headed over to number four Privet Drive. Richard knocked on the door and stepped back as it opened. "Hello new neighbors! Welcome to our house. Come on in!" The lady who opened it said as they stepped inside. " I'm sure it must have been quite the adjustment from living in America. I'm Petunia Dursley, and these are my husband and son, Vernon and Dudley." Emery and Alex shared a look as they sat down.
Suddenly, someone came down the stairs and apologized for being late. "Oh sorry, this is our nephew, Harry Potter. He works here during the summers."
{Emery's POV}
Lies. Every word she said about the boy, lies. She finished explaining things and stood up. A minute later, she came with some bread rolls and put them on the table. "Help yourselves to some hot rolls while the food finished cooking."
Alex, Harry and I each took a roll and munched on it. Dudley, I think his name was, took three, Vernon took two and Kimberley and Richard each took one. "K- mom, can Alex and I play in the yard with Harry?" I asked, hoping she'd say yes.
"Only if it's fine with Petunia and Vernon." She nodded. Petunia nodded as well and we thanked them and headed out.
"So uh, how do they treat you? I can tell it's not good." Alex said and I socked his arm. "Ow! What was that for?" He rubbed the spot where I punched him.
"That's insensitive! And rude!" I huffed.
"Sorry, but it's true! I just wanna know."
"It's okay, I don't mind. What're your names?" Harry asked, scratching his head.
"I'm Emery and that dumb head there is Alexander." I pointed to Alex, who was trying to lick his nose.
"Well uh, I'm kinda like a butler, but worse. I sleep in the cupboard under the stairs, uh,
I don't normally get to eat much." He tugged on his hair and Petunia called us inside.
{two hours later}
Alex and I were on our bunk beds, discussing Harry. We decided he was our brother now and we'd protect him regardless. After an hour of debating on what we should spend our time doing tomorrow, we both passed out.
