It's The Ponytail For Me-

{Two days later}

Alex and Emery were walking out of the Starbucks. Since Alex had promised to take Em to meet this 'mystery boy', that's where they were headed, and Alex couldn't be more excited to see John again. He ran over to the McDonald's, Em following close behind. "Alex come onnnn! How much farther?" Em complained(totally not for the sake of annoying Alex). Alex stopped running. "Here, you can stop now."

The two walked over to where John was sitting. "Hey, I brought my sister this time of that's oka-" He was pushed out of the way by Emery. "Adopted sister. I'm Emery, nice to meet you." She looked him up and down before quietly declaring, "It's the ponytail for me." John eyed her sassily (is that a word?) before going, "It's the being visibly shorter than your 4'10" brother for me💅."

Next thing you know, Em was trying to jump John, this is what went down-
"ALEX GET YO DOG"
"She don't bite."
*aggressive barking and trying to actually bite John*
"YES SHE DO"

*cough* anyways-

Alex pulled Emery off John, the three of them breathing heavily. "Can we NOT do that again? P l e a s e try to get along." Alex groaned.

Emery coughed. "Sure, if your boyfriend doesn't insult my height again."

John mumbled, "So it's true what they say about short people being closer to hell- I SAID NOTHING." John raised his hands defensively.

Alex looked away. "He's not my boyfriend, I just met him."

"Oh suuure, and that's why you're blushing."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE NOT."

"AM TOO- DANGIT!" Alex stomped on the ground. "Anyways, you think we could sneak John into our room-?"

"Um, may I ask why you'd do that for me?" John asked quietly.

Em looked at him. "It's because you need a shower."

"Actually," Alex glared at her then continued. "I just don't think you should have to live out here by yourself forever."

John whispered a small "oh" and pulled out his letter. "A-actually, I got a letter from this.. Dumbledore person? Saying that I get to go to this school. See?" He showed them the letter.

Emery looked at the letter. "Did an owl give it to you..?" She asked quietly, receiving a small nod in return. "So we're going to the same school, neat."

John nodded rapidly and smiled at them. "I hope they have good food, I'm tired of chicken nuggets and chips."

Alex looked at John and narrowed his eyes. "Chips? You mean like fries?"

Emery sighed and smacked her brother. "Don't mind this idiot, he's American. We grew up in the good ol' U.S. of A." She said, rolling her eyes.

John nodded, pretending it made sense. "Right, right. So.. um, what do you think it'll be like?" John asked the two.

"Dunno." Alex and Emery both shrugged. "Never even heard of a magic school before."

John sighed. "Welp, there goes my hope of, like, everything."

Alex frowned. "Don't give up yet, I'm sure we'll find a way to get there. Maybe there's like... a magical train. Or something."

Emery rolled her eyes. "Or something. They're wizards Alex, they're not gonna use a dumb train, they probably use flying cars or something."

"That's dumb."

"You're dumber."

"Am not."

"Are to-"

John cut them off. "Please, no more arguing. It's giving me a headache." He whined quietly.

Alex stopped being loud. "Sorry John. We'll stop arguing."

Emery coughed. "Simp."

"I-" Alex glared at her. "Am not."

John looked awkwardly at the two. "Anyways.. It's really nice to meet you guys, You're really nice to me and I appreciate it a lot."

Alex smiled. "It's nothing, really. Everyone needs a couple of friends."

Emery checked the time. "Holy- Alex, we have to go, we're supposed to have the kitchen cleaned in 30 minutes." She grabbed his wrist and started running.

"Agh- Bye John! See you later!" Alex waved as he regained his footing, running alongside his sister.

John waved goodbye and smiled to himself, "I have friends..!"
