Chapter 7

BACK TO THE STORY

"Who the fuck is Caleb?" Joe frowns.

I roll my eyes. "No one you need to worry about".

He looks up at me still frowning. "Who is it?".

"Some boy this morning that gave me his number, but I'm not going to call him obviously" I puff.

"You could of refused it" he says as he pulls me away from the others to near a tree.

"He just handed it to me. Rip it up Joe, I'm not bothered. You know I only want to be with you" I say looking at my hands. I don't know why I feel guilty, but I do.

I look up to see his face has softened. "I'm sorry. I know you wouldn't do anything".

He hands me back the number and I bite my lip. I take it off him and then rip it into shreds then dispose of it into a bin next to us. "I told you it's nothing to worry about".

He tips forward and kisses me gently and smiles against my lips.

"Mine".he whispers. I giggle.

He takes my hand in his and we walk back to the table just in time for our food to be delivered. We all share what we ordered between us and take lots of pictures; my favourite being of Joe with onion rings around his ears with two chips in his mouth that poke out from his lips.

"Guys do you wanna go to a nearby park? It's not too far from here. Joe you know the way don't you to the Annex?" Zoes speaks up. Joe looks to her and nods.

"Yeah sounds fun" Marcus says.

We all get up and head to pay for our meals and then head for our cars and file into them. I jump into the passenger seat of Joe's car as he starts up the engine and then takes us to...a shop.

"Just going to get something" he smiles as he hops out of his car. I turn round to face Zoe.

"Where's he going?" I ask.

She shrugs. "No idea".

Joe comes back out of the shop with a white carrier bag with something quite big in it and then jumps back in. He puts it on my lap so I take a peek into the bag to find...a rugby ball?

I look at him questionally.

"I love rugby" he smiles.

I nod and we make our way to the park. I check my phone for the time, 4.30PM. I'm so glad it's summer - it doesn't even get dark until late so we still have hours of sunlight.

We all get out of the car and then me and the girls head to the centre of a field, Zoe has two fleece blankets in her arms from Joes car. She sets them out onto the grass and all the girls lie down ontop of them, me joining them.

I see the boys coming across the field holding something in their hands. I squint to see but in the end give up, lie down and turn over. I sigh from appreciation at how hot the weather is when I feel something ice cold on my back.

"Ahhh what the fuck is that!" I shout turning over to see Joe laughing as he holds out an ice lolly to me with a grin.

I roll my eyes with a smile as I take it from him and take it out the pocket. I start to eat my lolly as Joe walks back to the boys a few metres away. They all take off their shirts and I watch Joe take off his, his muscles rippling as he stretches upwards.

"Close your mouth" Zoe laughs next to me.

I turn my head towards her with a grin. "Can't help the fact your brothers a sex god".

Her eyes pop and she lies down with her hands over her ears. "Don't ever say that again!".

"Your brother. Sex god. Absolutely beautiful" I laugh, raising my voice.

I hear a cough and look upwards to see the lads staring at me with smirks. I instantly turn bright red and turn over to hide my embarrassment.

I watch the boys play rugby, Joe tackling them to the ground with no sympathy. I get up to go and put my lollypop stick into the bin and feel some arms wrap around my waist.

"Aaaah!" I squeal.

I hear Joe laugh behind me as he carries me, throwing me over his shoulder and running with me.

"Joe let me down!" I laugh as he runs with me, I bop up and down reapeatly.

He lowers me down onto the grass and sits onto my waist, pinning both my hands down with one of his. He tickles me and I struggle underneath his weight as his fingers jab at me, making me super uncomfortable but I can't help but laugh.

"Joe!!" I scream laughing. He stops still smiling at me and gets up and going to join the boys again. I shake my head and look to see the girls staring at me with their thumbs up, oh dear!

I push myself up off the ground and go towards them, I sit down onto my heels with a plan.

"Right. I've got a plan" I grin mischieviously.

"What is it?" Tanya whispers.

I explain my little plan to annoy the boys and me and the girls slowly stand up pretending to stretch.

"Guys come over here" Niomi yells to them, motioning them over. They all stop their little game and make their way over to us curious. Niomi starts talking about something totally random while Me and Tanya walk past the boys, around the back of them.

Zoe walks towards and Alfie smiling and goes to take his hand. He smiles back at her and goes to open out his arms to her, the rugby ball in one hand. She snatches it out of his hand and throws it to Tanya.

We start running together away from the others, the other girls jumping onto the boys backs so they can't catch me and Tanya. Tanya throws the ball to me and I catch it with a jump. I sprint towards a lake, Tanya stopping to stop Jim but Caspar and Joe still behind me.

Haha I'll doubt they'll catch me because I used to be on the school running team and always used to win trophies for it. I smile as my legs don't even feel the burn, but I hear Joe and Caspar breathing hard behind me.

I make it to the lake, quickly searching for an escape route to make my way across it. I notice a small rope swing hanging from a tree. I run towards it, slipping down the enbankment. I grab the rope, quickly making my way up the enbankment.

I turn to see Joe and Caspar only a few feet a way so I give them a little wave and smile. Holding securely onto the ball with one hand and the other on the rope I let my feet off the ground and I swing to the other side. I skid to a halt on the other side of the river, turning to see Joe and Caspar on the other side shaking their head with a smile.

"Give us back our ball" Joe shouts laughing.

"Never!" I call back. I see the rest of the group running towards us, the girls grinning from ear to ear. I give them a wave and they shout back to me.

"Wooo! Go Liv!"

"Yeah she made it!"

"Hahaha! I can't believe she out run the boys!"

I wave towards them all, still holding onto the ball. I hear a crunch come from behind me and turn to see a fimiliar face.

"Grace?" he says.

"Caleb?" I say confused.
