Chapter 8

"Olivia?" he says.

"Caleb?" I say confused.

I stare at the guy I met this morning, him now in a pair or running shorts and tank top that's matched with a pair of expensive looking trainers.

"I didn't expect to see you here" he smiles.

I frown. "Same for you".

"Are those your friends?" he asks, nodding to behind me back to the other guys. I turn to see them all staring at us, Joe's face tightening with a grim expression.

"Yeah and my boyfriend" I reply turning back to him.

"Oh. How are you going to get back over there?" he asks, his smile still on his face.

"Rope swing" I say uncomfortable, feeling like a child.

"Hm. You could do that, but there is a foot path leading around to your friends. That's the way I came. I could take you if you want" he says.

"Uh okay" I nod, turning back to the guys on the other side of the river. "I'm walking round with Caleb I'll meet you guys back where we were sitting".

They all nod and begin to walk off but Joe stands staring at Caleb. Zoe links her arm into Joe's and begins to pull him off. Yup he's in a bad mood.

I turn back round to Caleb.

"Ready to go?" he asks. I nod.

He starts walking and so I follow him as he talks about how he was going on his 'daily run' and how he noticed me through a bush. Creepy or what? We only met this morning.

He puts his hand on the bottom of my back, guiding me through the woods. I cringe at the sudden touch.

"So where are you from?" he asks.

"London" I murmur.

"Oh cool. You do seem posh" he nods.

I actually laugh. "Posh?".

He grins at me. "Yeah".

"Just because I'm not a farmer, it doesn't make me posh" I shake my head.

He clutches his shirt. "Oh you've hurt my feelings".

I tut and then notice we've been walking for over 15 minutes.

"Um. Where are we" I ask, looking around as we pass a tree that looks familiar.

He stops and scratches his head. "Actually. I don't know".

I stop and stare at him. "I thought you knew the way".

"I uh..." he begins.

"Well?" I ask.

"I just wanted to get you alone" he says.

I stare at him. "You do know how creepy that sounds right?"

"I just find you extremely attractive Liv. Please go on a date with me" he asks, his expression soft.

"I have a boyfriend Caleb" I huff, turning to look around to find a way back.

He grabs my hand. "I don't care. You will go on a date with me".

I turn to see him towering above me, his face stern. I cower backwards.

"No Caleb, I won't. Leave me the fuck alone or I'll call Joe" I warn.

He laughs. "With what? Your voice? He won't hear you Liv. I took you to the far side of the woods".

I frown at him and reach into my back pocket to grab my phone when I realise it's not there. I panic and feel through all of my pockets.

"Looking for this?" he asks. I look up to see my phone in his hand, he twirls it. "You were too busy day dreaming to notice I took it".

I jump at him. "Give it me back!".

He grabs me and shoves me against a tree. "Don't fucking push it. Look I brought you here because I find you attractive. So agree to go on a date with me".

I shake my head no. "You're a fucking physco!"

He pushes against me. "Mmmm I like a girl that plays hard to get".

"Get off of me you creep" I shout.

"No one can hear you" he smiles.

"Please just let me go" I whimper. I'm starting to go into panic mode now but I need to keep calm and think of a way out!

"Not until you agree to come home with me" he smiles menacingly.

I nod repeatedly. "Yes of course".

He stares at me. "You're not that easy Liv".

I soften my face and give up the fight, my new plan building it's way in my head. "I just want to get it over and done with".

He focus' his eyes on me, trying to detect any lies. His embrace slowly becomes less tense, showing his belief in me. I take this chance to take control of the situation by his little move of weakness. I pull back my knee and slam it forward, earning me a piercing scream from the monster infront of me.

I push him away from me as he falls to the floor. I grab my phone off the floor and sprint away not looking backwards, heading further and further into woods with no clue of where I'm heading.

My tears block my vision and I trip and tumble over branches. I stumble into a hard chest.

"Liv what's wrong?" I hear him say,

I look up to see Caspar through my blurred vision.

He wipes my tears and looks me up and down, his face turning to anger. "Where the fuck is he?".

I point back to where I ran from.

"Joe! Marcus! Jim!" Caspar shouts loudly. Moments later they all emerge from different directions.

Joe runs straight towards me, crushing me with a hug. "Oh Liv. We knew something was wrong when you didn't turn back up. We asked a guy who worked at the shop where the entrance was to the other side of the river and he said there wasn't. The only way over was the rope swing" he sas quickly as I'm held by his embrace.

I whimper thinking back to it. Joe pulls me away from him, his face not contorted in anger.

"Where is he?"

Hi guys, sorry the chapter was so short but I didn't really have a proper structure or plot for this chapter so I just went with whatever came to mind.

So Caleb is a creep... fun.
