I wake up to my alarm clock. I easily get up from bed since I'm not that sleepy today since i slept half the day yesterday.

Kyle brought me home and sneaked into my window forcing me to lock my bedroom door and tucked me into bed, giving me a good night kiss on the cheek.

I head into my bathroom, pee, shower, brush my teeth and dress up into a large sweater that covers half my thigh and put on some small shorts inside the sweater, i then tie my hair up in a ponytail.

Looks like today I will be an Ariana Grande.

After dressing up, i go downstairs with my phone and keys, and take breakfast with dad as he warns me to be careful and come home early. I rolled my eyes at that. Oh dad.

I then drive to school with my windows down feeling the morning fresh cool air. I arrive at school and walk through the swarm of students as i head to my locker,

"Vanessa!!!!!" A familiar voice screams my name and i wince at the high pitched tone.

"Where have you been? Do you knkw how worried i was? Do you know an electric device called a phone?" She scolds and i start to feel bad for worrying her.

Oh God!

"I'm so so sorry, Elena. I wasn't feeling well and a friend took care of me as-"

"What are these?" Elena cuts me off looking closely to my left cheek that's bruised from the slaps.

"They are bad-"

"Don't lie to your best friend, Van." Elena scowls at me and i sigh feeling bad.

She said best friends!

Elena and i are best friends!

She should know , i cant keep it in forever. I need to let it out to my best friend. but i dont want to tell her here in a crowded hall with lots of students.

"Can i tell you somewhere else private?" I ask and she nods leading me to an empty room. Class starts in fifteen minutes so we should be good.

"Promise me not to over react or feel pity?" I ask and she nods sealing the promise with a pinky finger. I smile and tell her everything. From Jake's death to what mam did or does to punish me.

Elena wraps hher around me, sobbing into my shoulder as more tears also escape my eyes,

"I'm so sorry, babygirl. You are so precious and you deserve the world." Elena sniffs hugging me tighter.

"Dont worry about me. All will be fine." I assure her and myself. Will all be actuually fine?

"I'm here for you any time." She pulls away looking at me in the eye, her own eyes red and puffy from crying,

"You're my best friend and i love you." She says smiling and i smile back,

"Thank you so much for listening and being a good frien-"

"Uh uh...best friend." She corrects with a smile and i giggle hugging her back.

"Why wont you report this? It's not right." She asks in a serious tone. I sigh. I know this was coming,

Its like having the same conversation with my Kyle all over again.

"Because she's my mam. And deep down, i know the woman who raised and loved me is still there and she will maybe come back. I just have to continue praying for her." I smile.
