You were the escape
I flew away to always
so don't look away from me
Your eyes, they don't see me anymore,
not like they used to,
what have I done?
Can't you see,
it's not my fault
our relations soured.
I thought the world could fall apart,
but you would stand by me.
How wrong I was...
silly, idiotic...
I trusted in
those dreams we saw together.
Time slips,
like the sand between my fingers.
I am still alone and bitter.
How do I smile?
How can I fight?
You were my strength,
and alone I am so weak.
Don't smirk so much.
This isn't me
bowing in defeat.
I have crumbled to my knees but I will stand again, on my own...
this time without relying on anyone's love
